Job summary

Swift Transportation is hiring Diesel Mechanics in Amsterdam. You will perform preventative maintenance, diagnose and repair heavy trucks and trailers, including tires. The role offers a comprehensive benefits package and opportunities for growth within a large fleet.

Shift is Monday to Friday, 8am–4pm, with pay ranging from $24.00 to $36.00 per hour. Candidates should have a high school diploma or equivalent and a valid driver's license.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of vehicle systems and basic vehicle maintenance preferred.
• High School or combination of training and/or experience required.
• Drivers license required.
• Demonstrated/proven superior customer service skills.
• Ability to read and understand repair manuals, tags and repair orders.
• Ability to use and learn diagnostic software for tractors/trailers.
• Must possess computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventative maintenance and repairs on company equipment per OEM/DOT specs.
• Inspect, troubleshoot, diagnose and repair heavy truck and trailer components.
• Disassemble and reassemble heavy truck and trailer components.
• Perform tire maintenance and related repairs.

Job Responsibilities: What you will do as a Diesel Mechanic

Complete a quality preventative maintenance inspection and repairs on all company owned equipment, to include tractors, trailers, refrigerated units and support equipment.

• Perform preventative maintenance on all equipment to appropriate specifications (OEM, DOT, Swift, etc.)
• Inspect, analyze, troubleshoot, diagnose and perform minor and/or complex repairs for all equipment.
• Disassemble, repair and re-assemble of Heavy Truck & Trailer components.
• Perform tire maintenance to include: repairs, failure analysis, coding, identification.
