Job summary

Accenture Industry X is seeking a Hands-on DevOps/Platform Architect to lead modernization of a complex engineering tooling ecosystem. The role combines architecture leadership with hands-on delivery, including containerization, automation, and platform engineering initiatives.

The successful candidate will assess the current landscape, define modernization strategies, and actively participate in implementation activities, working across engineering, operations, and product teams to balance

Qualifications

• 9+ years of experience in infrastructure, platform engineering, DevOps, or software architecture.
• Proven experience modernizing legacy applications and platforms.
• Demonstrated experience defining architecture and delivering solutions hands-on.
• Deep understanding of containerization technologies: Docker, Kubernetes.
• Strong automation and scripting skills: Python, Bash.
• Experience with Git, CI/CD, Infrastructure as Code (Ansible, Terraform).
• Ability to perform architecture assessments and create modernization roadmaps.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Knowledge of security architecture principles.

About the role

We are seeking an Hands-on DevOps/Platform Architect to lead the modernization of a complex engineering tooling ecosystem. The environment contains a significant number of business-critical legacy applications and services that require modernization to improve maintainability, operational efficiency, security, and scalability.

This role combines architecture leadership with technical execution. The successful candidate will assess the current landscape, define modernization strategies, design target architectures, and actively participate in implementation activities including containerization, automation, and platform engineering initiatives.

Unlike a traditional architect role, this position requires an individual who can move seamlessly between strategic planning and hands-on technical delivery.
