Job summary

Single Quantum in Delft is seeking a Development Test Engineer to fully characterize newly developed detectors and customer systems, and to communicate validated results that enable reliable transfer from development into production.

The role combines hands-on measurement, data analysis, and documentation, with opportunities to contribute to process improvements, measurement automation (Python), and cross-disciplinary collaboration in a fast-growing quantum technology company.

Qualifications

• MSc (or equivalent) in Applied Physics, Engineering, or related field.
• Analytical with strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
• Solid knowledge of electronics, optics, lasers, and single-photon detectors (SNSPDs).
• Hands-on skills for assembling, operating, and maintaining optical/electrical setups.
• Strong reporting and presenting skills to communicate validated results clearly.

Responsibilities

• Fully characterise newly developed detectors and customer systems.
• Develop and optimise measurement procedures.
• Assemble, operate, and maintain optical and electrical experimental setups.
• Document and communicate results via structured reports and presentations.
• Maintain detailed SOPs, test protocols, and calibration logs for reproducibility.
