Job summary

Wlgroup in the Netherlands seeks a senior network engineer to design, deploy and operate mission-critical networks across fixed sites and deployable kit. You will transform designs into tested installations, configure and integrate hardware, and drive testing, acceptance and documentation in a demanding environment.

You will bring a degree in computing, networking or engineering, 5 years of enterprise-network experience, and hands-on expertise with Cisco/Juniper/FortiGate/PA devices, including

Qualifications

• A degree in computing, networking or engineering.
• 5 years designing, building, running and troubleshooting enterprise networks.
• Advanced TCP/IP, IPv4/IPv6, L2/L3, OSPF, BGP, EIGRP, VLANs, QoS and VPN.
• Deployable and expeditionary communications: field setup and recovery.
• Network security: firewalls, IDS/IPS, NAC and secure remote access.
• Hands-on with Cisco, Juniper, Palo Alto or Fortinet gear (CCNP/JNCIP-Enterprise).

Responsibilities

• Producing technical network designs and turning them into working installations.
• Installing, configuring and integrating network components, then testing and acceptance.
• Supporting deployment, migration and modernisation of mission-critical networks.
• Writing network documentation, diagrams, implementation plans and configuration baselines.
• Fault isolation, root cause analysis and performance tuning in complex environments.
• Reporting regularly on progress, risks and next steps.
