Job summary

Talland College in Zaandam is seeking an enthusiastic instructor for the dental assistant training programme. You will deliver practical classes for trainee dental assistants, supervise small groups during treatments, prepare lessons, manage the classroom, place orders, and assist with examinations.

You join a team of about 20 teachers and instructors across dental, pharmacy and medical assistant programmes, with opportunities for professional development through Talland Academy and Good Habitz.

Qualifications

• Completed mbo course as a dental assistant (mandatory).
• Several years' work experience as a dental nurse with chairside assisting and front desk duties.
• Enjoy connecting with students and working with diverse backgrounds.
• Good at conveying information and organising work, with flexibility.
• Instructor qualification or willingness to follow training to obtain it.

Responsibilities

• Deliver practical classes for trainee dental assistants together with the teacher/instructor.
• Supervise students in small groups during general dental treatments.
• Prepare lessons, set out materials, manage the classroom and place orders.
• Assist with examinations and testing as part of assessments.

Talland College is looking for an enthusiastic and qualified instructor for the dental assistant training programme.

The function

Together with the teacher/instructor, you deliver the practical classes for trainee dental assistants. Under your supervision, students carry out all general dental treatments in small groups. You assist with the preparation of the lessons, such as setting out materials. You also help manage the practical classroom and place orders. As an instructor, you also assist with examining and testing.

You are part of the team and participate in student discussions, meetings, and team development.

About the team

The team consists of three training programmes: dental, pharmacy and medical assistant. Supplemented by teachers for arithmetic, English, Dutch and citizenship, together they form the Healthcare Assistants team. The team consists of approximately 20 teachers and instructors.

Job requirements

Your profile

• You have completed an intermediate vocational education (mbo) course as a dental assistant; this is a requirement;
• you have several years work experience as a dental nurse and experience with, among other things, chairside assisting, circulating in the practice and performing front desk duties are also a requirement;
• you derive joy from connecting with students and are mindful of the many different (cultural) backgrounds;
• you are good at conveying information;
• you are good at organising and at the same time flexible if things go differently than expected;
• you enjoy working together in a team;
• you hold an instructor's qualification or are open to taking this training course.
