Vinted is seeking a Decision Scientist to join the Marketplace Strategy Intelligence team. You will uncover insights that shape growth, define metrics and forecast performance, and enable stakeholders to leverage data through dashboards.
Based in Amsterdam with a hybrid work model, you will collaborate across teams to identify opportunities from international expansion to new business models, balancing analytical rigor with business impact.
Qualifications
- 2+ years working experience as a Decision Scientist, Data Analyst, Product Analyst or strategic role with a strong data component.
- Highly business-oriented with affinity for online marketplaces
- Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving, detail-oriented with business impact
- Experience in SQL and Python for data analysis; dashboarding tools (Looker, Tableau) familiarity with dbt is a plus
- Strong interpersonal skills; proactive communicator who can present complex topics clearly
- Comfortable in a high-paced, high-stakes environment; able to handle ambiguity and learn quickly
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with team and stakeholders to shape the strategy of Vinted’s Marketplace and identify growth areas.
- Define metrics and set targets (OKRs) and forecast performance over time.
- Create and maintain dashboards to enable data-driven decisions by stakeholders.
- Analyze internal data to uncover insights and translate them into business opportunities.
- Identify opportunities to automate recurring workflows and reporting processes to improve efficiency.

We are looking for a Decision Scientist to join our Marketplace Strategy Intelligence team. This team is the data engine behind how Vinted understands and reports on its performance. As a Decision Scientist you will uncover insights that shape our strategy, help set ambitious growth targets, and contribute your data expertise to some of our most important strategic initiatives. About the team: Marketplace Strategy & Planning domain identifies growth areas for Vinted’s Marketplace in different markets, categories and other business opportunities. As the data team inside Strategy & Planning we quantify and measure our Marketplace strategy, including setting OKRs, defining metrics, and forecasting of our performance. We work on highly visible strategic projects, with a wide range of stakeholders and data sources, and deliver the data products to support strategic decision making.
- Collaborate with your team and stakeholders to shape the strategy of Vinted’s Marketplace, working on a variety of projects to identify areas of growth for the Vinted Marketplace, from international expansion to exploring new business models
- Contribute to defining metrics and setting targets (we use OKRs at Vinted) for the Marketplace, and track and forecast their performance over time.
- Enable stakeholders to independently leverage data for business insights, by creating and maintaining dashboards.
- Analyze our internal data to uncover data insights, and translate these to concrete business opportunities
- Identify opportunities to automate recurring workflows and reporting processes, improving efficiency and reducing manual effort over time.
- 2+ years working experience working as a Decision Scientist, Data Analyst, Product Analyst or a Strategic role with a strong data component
- Highly business‑oriented and affinity with online marketplaces
- Strong in analytical thinking and problem‑solving, detail‑oriented and know how to balance analytical rigor with business impact.
- Experience in SQL and Python for data analysis, experience with dashboarding tools (e.g. Looker, Tableau, etc.). Familiarity with dbt or similar data transformation tools is a plus.
- Strong interpersonal skills and a good and pro‑active communicator who can present complex topics clearly and persuasively to different audiences and stakeholders
- Comfortable in a high‑paced, high‑stakes environment. You deal well with ambiguity and learn quickly, and are inspired by our mission.
