Do you thrive on creating scalable architectures that empower organizations to make data-driven decisions? If you’re ready to build a future-proof data warehouse that truly makes an impact, we have an exciting challenge for you!

About the Assignment

Our client is embarking on a strategic initiative to centralize and streamline their data landscape. Your mission? To design and implement a reliable, auditable, and scalable data warehouse layer that integrates fragmented data sources, reduces manual processes, and accelerates reporting in Power BI.

You will lay the foundation for a Minimum Viable Product (MVP) on AWS, delivering immediate business value while ensuring scalability for future growth.

Your Key Responsibilities
  • Architect and implement a vendor-neutral data warehouse on AWS using services such as S3, Glue, Lake Formation, and Redshift Serverless.
  • Integrate multiple data sources, including MariaDB, STIP/KNOX, PostgreSQL, and ABN/Calastone.
  • Design and build three data layers: Raw, Curated, and Semantic.
  • Set up monitoring, data lineage, exception handling, and logging for full transparency.
  • Implement data quality checks and governance standards.
  • Configure Power BI integrations for optimized reporting.
  • Document data contracts, acceptance criteria, and operational runbooks.
  • Ensure a smooth handover to internal engineers and administrators.
What We’re Looking For
  • Proven experience with AWS data services (S3, Glue, Redshift, Lake Formation).
  • Strong knowledge of ETL processes, data modeling, and data governance frameworks.
  • Hands‑on experience building data pipelines and working with semantic layers.
  • Familiarity with Power BI and performance optimization for dashboards and reports.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts clearly and drive structured approaches.
Why This Role Matters

This is not just another data engineering assignment. You will be shaping the foundation of a modern data ecosystem, enabling faster insights, better decision-making, and long-term scalability. Your work will directly impact how the organization leverages data for strategic advantage.

Practical Details
  • Start Date: ASAP, ideally end of January or early February.
  • Duration: 4 months, with an option to extend up to 6 months.
  • Location: Hybrid (on-site meetings where possible).
