Job summary

SR2 Consulting is seeking a senior Databricks Migration & Modernisation Engineer for The Hague. You will lead migration efforts, modernising legacy data workloads onto a Databricks Lakehouse, combining hands-on engineering with reusable tooling.

In this role you’ll work 3 days onsite per week and collaborate with engineers, architects and business stakeholders. Expertise in Databricks, Spark, Python/SQL and AI-enhanced automation is highly valued.

Qualifications

• Senior, hands-on data engineer with migration/modernisation experience.
• Experience migrating legacy pipelines to Databricks Lakehouse.
• Familiar with Delta Lake, Unity Catalog, and DBT.

Responsibilities

• Migrate and refactor legacy data pipelines and models.
• Build scalable Databricks Lakehouse/Medallion architectures.
• Develop production pipelines with Spark, Python/Scala and SQL.
• Work with Delta Lake, Unity Catalog and DBT.
• Create reusable migration accelerators and templates.
• Develop repeatable engineering and migration patterns.
• Data validation, testing, reconciliation and performance tuning.
• Review workloads and propose migration strategies.
• Support workshops and design reviews with stakeholders.
