Overview

Telespazio Belgium can count on almost 40 years of experience in the field of Space Operations Service & Engineering activities. On behalf of the European Space Agency, we are looking for a highly skilled Data Science Engineer to work in ESTEC, in the Netherlands.

Responsibilities
  • Support the requirement definition of data-driven solutions together with stakeholders, AI System Engineers and Digital Innovation engineers.
  • Contribute to the gathering of data from various sources, cleaning it, and transforming it into a usable format ensuring data quality, consistency, and availability.
  • Support exploratory data analysis to understand the data and identify patterns, trends, and anomalies gaining insights and forming hypotheses.
  • Participate to the build of predictive models selecting appropriate algorithms, training models on historical data, and validating their performance.
  • Support the implementation of machine learning algorithms automating decisionmaking processes including tasks such as image processing, anomaly detection, predictive maintenance.
  • Contribute to the creation of visual representations of data, such as charts, graphs, and dashboards, to make the data more understandable for communicating insights to stakeholders.
  • Contribute to technology development and work plans for ESA's technology programmes related to data science.
  • Contribute to the capture of knowledge related to the development and use of information factories and support its dissemination.
What you offer

  • Knowledge of and experience with Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML) techniques, data science methodologies, etc.
  • Familiarity with Artificial Intelligence and Data Science approaches for engineering analysis, mission optimisation, decision support.
  • Candidates must be eligible for a security personal clearance from an EU Member State national security administration.

Where

You will be working within ESTEC, the European Space Agency’s offices in the Netherlands as a contractor for Telespazio Belgium. We don’t expect the employees to be on-site full time however you will still have to relocate to the Netherlands for this position.
