Position Overview
As Data Lead you will own the data function end‑to‑end, including the operating model, platform investment, team, and outcomes. You will lead a small engineering team (~5 FTE) and work closely with Product, Revenue Operations, Finance, and GTM to make data central to how the business operates day‑to‑day. Your ambition is to tie operational data to engagement results so that customers can prove the impact of employee feedback on their performance. You will report directly to the CTO.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Own the design and implementation of the internal data stack — warehouse, pipelines, orchestration, and BI layer.
- Define target architecture compatible with the existing external product data stack owned by the reporting team.
- Safeguard data quality, reliability, and documentation across all critical datasets.
- Create and maintain shared metric definitions and data standards across the business.
- Define and own the company's data strategy and 12‑month roadmap, aligned to company OKRs.
- Partner with leadership — including RevOps, CISO, CTO, Finance, and Product — to align data capabilities with business priorities.
- Establish clear working agreements with RevOps on metric ownership and shared data models, ensuring a single source of truth for critical company metrics.
- Work alongside the CISO on data governance and access controls; implementation sits with the Head of Data.
- Deliver self‑serve BI capabilities for Product, Customer Success, Finance, and the executive team.
- Own product and customer engagement metrics; collaborate with RevOps on a shared revenue metrics layer.
- Ensure data is structured, documented, and governed in ways that enable advanced analytics, automation, and AI use cases.
- Set the standard for how the team uses LLMs, agents, and automation; coach the team to adopt AI‑enabled ways of working by default.
- Foster a data‑driven culture across the organisation through standards, tooling, and stakeholder engagement.
Qualifications
- 7+ years in data or analytics roles, with at least 3 years in a leadership or management capacity.
- Strong people‑leader who builds clarity, accountability, and momentum in technical teams.
- Strong SQL skills and hands‑on experience with modern data stacks (Snowflake or Databricks, dbt, Azure Data Factory, Fivetran, Power BI or Looker, etc.).
- Experience operating in ambiguous, fast‑growing environments where ownership is unclear and priorities shift.
- Demonstrated ability to work as a peer alongside Revenue Operations, Security, and Engineering functions, influencing without formal authority.
- Pragmatic, analytical, and results‑oriented, with the ability to cut through ambiguity and turn complex data challenges into clear priorities and tangible business outcomes.
- Privacy and security essential; understands how to create flexible insights while safeguarding individuals' privacy and meeting enterprise security requirements.
- Fluent in English.
