Xebia Databricks Division (XDD) in the Netherlands seeks a data engineer who will build, maintain, and operate scalable data pipelines on Databricks. You will contribute to secure, reliable lakehouse platforms while collaborating with diverse experts across client environments.

You will work on long-term engagements with clients in healthcare and banking, refining data landscapes, and sharing knowledge within a supportive, growth-minded team.

Qualifications

• At least 3 years of relevant work experience in data engineering or similar roles.
• Hands-on experience with Databricks and modern data stack.
• Proficient in English, with Dutch professional-level proficiency required.

You are a data engineer responsible for building, maintaining, and keeping operational data pipelines and integrations that power modern lakehouse platforms on Databricks.

This role forms the technical backbone of our clients' data organizations: without reliable data, no other part of the organization functions. You are familiar with software engineering and know your way around Databricks, building robust and scalable production systems. You enjoy not only bringing new products live, but also iterating and refining after go-live.

What You’ll Be Doing To Make Organizations Data-Driven

You will be responsible for implementing foundational data systems on Databricks to store, transform, and process data at scale. Always with security, reliability, and future growth in mind.

You explain your design choices, align team members, and help client teams make confident and informed decisions about their data landscape. You will be surrounded by experts from diverse fields and learn from different environments and industries. Not always easy but always rewarding.

You will be working long-term with our clients in the healthcare or banking domain, building deep domain knowledge while delivering meaningful impact, and get to see what happens after go-live: the edge cases, the slow leaks, the things that were "good enough" six months ago that you now get to make excellent. You're an engineer who wants to know why it works and who finds real satisfaction in building a battle- tested system rather than an MVP.

This Databricks Data Engineer role requires at least 3 years of relevant work experience. That said, we care more about impact than years. If you have unique achievements, like contributing to open-source projects or founding your own startup, we encourage you to apply, no matter your experience level.
