Fitura is seeking a Data Engineer for a market leading client in Schiphol-Rijk. You will build and maintain Python backend services, REST APIs, and data pipelines powering passenger timeslot services and demand-capacity balancing.
You will deploy on Azure, using PostgreSQL and Kubernetes/OpenShift, ensure reliability, monitoring, and CI/CD workflows, and collaborate with data scientists and product teams to translate business needs into scalable solutions.
For one of our market leading clients in Schiphol, I'm recruiting for Data Engineer.
As a Data Engineer, you will build and maintain the backend applications, REST APIs, and data-intensive platforms that power passenger timeslot services and demand-capacity balancing. Operating within a collaborative engineering environment (with a fixed Tuesday office day on-site), you will bridge data science and software engineering to ensure seamless, predictable passenger flows without waiting times.
Backend & API Development: Design, build, and maintain robust Python backend services and REST APIs consumed by both internal and external stakeholders.
Data Pipelines & Integration: Build reliable data integrations and pipelines supporting GreenWave operational products and predictive models.
Cloud Operations & Deployment: Deploy, monitor, and operate production-grade applications using Microsoft Azure, Azure Database for PostgreSQL, and Kubernetes/OpenShift.
Reliability & Monitoring: Ensure high platform availability through proactive monitoring, troubleshooting, rapid incident resolution, and CI/CD workflow improvements.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner closely with data scientists to productionize machine learning models, working alongside product owners and engineers to translate business needs into scalable solutions.
Production-ready Python backend services and external-facing REST APIs.
Reliable PostgreSQL data pipelines and Azure-hosted infrastructure frameworks.
CI/CD deployment pipelines, automated test suites, and operational monitoring dashboards.
Technical Stack (Hard Requirements):
Strong backend development experience in Python and REST API creation.
Solid database skills in PostgreSQL and advanced SQL.
Hands‑on production experience with Microsoft Azure (including Azure Database for PostgreSQL) and container orchestration using Kubernetes and/or OpenShift.
Proven background managing git-based CI/CD workflows, production monitoring, and incident resolution.
Language (Mandatory): Excellent communication skills in both English and Dutch.
Preferred: Experience with Databricks; asynchronous processing technologies (Celery, RabbitMQ, Redis); and building highly available, operationally critical systems.
