Levy Global is recruiting a Data Engineer to bridge marketing and data teams for a major Dutch bank. You will design data points, build models and pipelines using SQL, Databricks and dbt to support marketing systems and campaigns.

The role involves collaborating with marketers and data professionals, ensuring data quality, and delivering insights. Hybrid work with a Wednesday office day in Utrecht.

Competenze

Would you like to turn marketing needs into smart data points that help one of the Netherlands’ largest banks communicate with its customers in a more relevant and personalised way? As Data Engineer, you’ll be the bridge between marketing and technical data specialists, building the data points behind the bank’s marketing systems.

You’ll work in a multidisciplinary team responsible for customer and campaign data, using SQL, Databricks and dbt, in a hybrid setup.

About the role

You uncover the underlying need behind a marketing question, determine which customer attributes are required and translate them into logic that can be implemented in the systems. For example: marketing wants to promote a specific product to a particular customer group, and you work out which attributes are needed, how they relate and how the logic should be built. You will:

• Translate functional marketing needs into concrete data points and technical specifications
• Analyse which customer attributes and relationships are needed to define a marketing target group
• Build logic, queries and data models (SQL, Databricks, dbt) that deliver data correctly to technical teams and marketing systems
• Coordinate needs and solutions with marketers, data professionals and business professionals
• Help the team improve data quality and data management

You’ll join a team of data engineers, data translators, data analysts and data scientists, supported by a scrum master, product owner, business analyst and solution architect. Together you deliver customer and campaign data across the bank and measure the performance of marketing activities, working in an agile way on everything from data pipelines and dashboards to models and data transfer controls. The team works hybrid, with a shared office day on Wednesday in Utrecht and the freedom to work from home or the office on other days.

Who are you?

Nice to have: experience with marketing technology; knowledge of data quality and data management; experience with PySpark and Python; command of Dutch; knowledge of banking products and financial customer data; and an eagerness to learn and openness to feedback. You don’t need to be an expert in every tool mentioned, but you should understand the fundamentals and be able to write code.
