Job summary

Booking Experts is seeking a Data Engineer to design, build, and maintain data pipelines and infrastructure that turn raw data into insights for customers and internal teams. You will collaborate with Product, Engineering, and Business units to deliver data solutions across the platform.

The role emphasizes developing scalable ETL processes, data models for Revenue Management, and customer-facing dashboards, with emphasis on PostgreSQL and BigQuery performance and internal data support.

Qualifications

• At least 5 years of experience in a similar Data Engineer role.
• Excellent proficiency in Python, SQL, and modern ETL processes.
• Solid experience with databases such as PostgreSQL and BigQuery.
• A Degree (BSc/MSc or equivalent) in Computer Science, Data Science, or a related field.
• Affinity for backend development (Ruby on Rails) or applied AI is a plus.

Responsibilities

Data plays a crucial role in everything we do. As a Data Engineer, you will design, build, and maintain the data pipelines and infrastructure that turn raw data into valuable insights for both our customers and our internal teams.

What you will be doing

As a Data Engineer, you will independently develop and optimise the data flows within our platform. You will work closely with Product, Engineering, and Business teams to integrate data solutions seamlessly. Your core responsibilities include:

• Designing, building, and maintaining scalable ETL processes and data pipelines
• Developing data models for our Revenue Management products
• Building customer-facing dashboards and self-service analytics
• Optimising databases such as PostgreSQL and BigQuery for maximum performance
• Supporting internal teams with data on product usage, operations, and business performance

• Salary between € 4,063 – € 6,896 gross per month
• 10% salary allowance after 1 year
