Job description

Can you build data clarity at scale? At BESTSELLER, that is the challenge on the table. With more than 20,000 colleagues across the business, the data you help build and structure supports decisions made every day.

Can you build data clarity at scale? At BESTSELLER, that is the challenge on the table. With more than 20,000 colleagues across the business, the data you help build and structure supports decisions made every day.

We are transforming how data powers our global fashion brands by building trusted, scalable and product-centric data solutions. As part of that journey, we are moving from legacy systems towards a modern data mesh architecture and are looking for an analytically minded Data Engineer to help us get there.

YOUR TEAM

You’ll join our Ecommerce / Product Experience Team, a close-knit group of Data Engineers based at our offices in Aarhus, Denmark and Amsterdam, the Netherlands who care as much about business outcomes as they do about clean code. We sit at the heart of BESTSELLER's data transformation, working across e-commerce, product development and operations to deliver data that people and the business can rely on.

  • define best practices and onboard domains into our data mesh architecture
  • partner with business stakeholders to turn opportunities and challenges into reliable and scalable data products
  • collaborate across brands and business units to ensure data is discoverable, trustworthy and reusable
YOUR ROLE

This role combines engineering depth with business understanding. You won’t just build pipelines. You’ll understand why they matter, work closely with stakeholders to define what good data looks like for each domain and translate business needs into robust and maintainable solutions.

More specifically, you will:

  • build and deploy data pipelines, APIs and integration services in a cloud-native environment
  • implement data products, including data contracts and observability practices
  • model and transform data to support analytical and operational use cases
  • engage with stakeholders across business units to understand their data needs and translate them into practical solutions
  • contribute to improving data quality, performance and governance while exploring technologies that strengthen our data ecosystem
Your Benefits

In this role, you’ll work at the intersection of data engineering and the business, with the opportunity to influence how we develop our data ecosystem.

  • work with visible impact across our global fashion brands
  • a trust-based team environment with autonomy, collaboration and continuous feedback
  • opportunities to develop both your technical expertise and your understanding of the business
  • an international setting where you’ll collaborate across teams and domains
YOUR PROFILE

We’re looking for someone who combines solid engineering skills with a genuine curiosity about the business side of data. You ask why before you ask how, and you’re comfortable working with both technical and non-technical stakeholders to find the right solution. You work in a structured way, keep track of priorities and dependencies and follow tasks through to completion.

We imagine that you:

  • have experience as a Data Engineer or in a similar role, building production-grade data systems and backend services
  • have strong analytical skills and can translate business requirements into scalable and well-designed data solutions
  • have hands‑on experience with modern data technologies such as AWS, GCP or Azure, Kafka, Snowflake, dbt or Airflow
  • have solid skills in SQL, Python and data modelling
  • have experience with API development, such as REST or GraphQL, and integration technologies such as S3, SFTP or REST
  • are familiar with data mesh principles, data governance and domain‑driven design
Location

Aarhus (DK) or Amsterdam (NL)
