Job summary

Valcon in the Netherlands is seeking a Data Consultant (Analytics & Insights) to translate business questions into analyses that drive decision-making.

You will work in agile project teams, collaborate with stakeholders and data engineers, and help design end-to-end data solutions using SQL and BI tools such as Power BI, Qlik and Tableau.

With 2–5 years of relevant experience, you will mentor junior consultants, build client networks, and contribute to data storytelling for multiple organisations.

Qualifications

Imagine you are helping to transform our clients into data driven organisations. You are in close contact with business stakeholders on your project and can formulate the right hypotheses to solve their business problems. You define a method or approach, gather the right data requirements, test the hypotheses and work to solve the business problem.

What will you do?

As a Data Consultant (Analytics & Insights), you will be part of dynamic project teams that deliver insights and analytical solutions. You’ll collaborate with clients and colleagues to help translate business questions into analyses that drive decision-making. You make a difference by being a strong communicator towards business stakeholders and your data engineering colleagues. You quickly understand business processes and know what your team needs to successfully deliver data products. In your project team you help analyse and design end-to-end data solutions. You are familiar with working in agile environments, data modelling, SQL and preferably have some experience with R/Python.

Among your responsibilities will be the following:

• Collect, clean, and analyse structured and unstructured data.
• Clearly communicate your findings and their implications.
• Work with SQL and other data querying languages to extract data from various sources.
• Collaborate with business stakeholders, data engineers, and other data consultants.
• Contribute to data storytelling and interpretation for our clients.

Experience

• You have 2-5 years of experience as a business or data analyst, or in a similar analytical role.
• You are able to translate business questions into concrete and testable statements, and analyse the data.
• You have experience with SQL and BI tools like Power BI, Qlik, Tableau.
• You can read and grasp different data models and understand data modelling concepts.
• You are able to present findings clearly to both technical and non‑technical audiences.
