Job summary

Alibaba Cloud in Amsterdam is seeking a senior Data Center Operations Lead to oversee daily IDC operations, optimize service quality, and manage risk across a 10+MW facility. You will coordinate with HQ in China and local/regional government bodies, balancing cost and safety while delivering reliable IT services.

The role requires 3+ years leading large data center teams, deep IT operations knowledge, cloud experience, and travel readiness. Excellent Excel/PowerPoint skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Mechanical engineering is required.
• 3+ years of global large data center operation (10+MW) as team leader with a team of 15+ people.
• Deep knowledge of Data Center IT Operation.
• Knowledge of cloud technologies and architectures, IT service delivery principles and best practices.
• Highly driven, self-managed with strong problem analysis and critical thinking.
• Knowledge of data center construction procedures.
• Willingness to travel domestically and internationally (roughly 25–50%).
• Proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint.
• Mandarin Chinese proficiency is a must for HQ coordination in China.

Responsibilities

• Operate and manage daily computer room operations, balancing service quality, efficiency, cost and safety to support department business operations.
• Respond to Ali IDC risk events and emergency faults to ensure controllable operation risks.
• Build efficient cooperation with regional government departments and meet government operation requirements.
• Provide on-site technical support for business equipment, understand needs and network structure, and promote cross-team operation projects.
• Lead talent development, capacity training, risk control, team culture, and assess IDC on-site operation and maintenance teams.
