DDM is an international demolition specialist active in industrial dismantling, relocation, and asbestos removal across projects worldwide. The role involves cutting, dismantling, and lifting on site, with strict adherence to safety and project rules.
You will work flexibly across locations, handle equipment responsibly, and report hazards to your manager. Applicants should have a VCA Basic diploma or be willing to obtain one, knowledge of equipment operation, and a valid driving license B.
Are you a hard worker, eager to learn and not afraid of anything? And do you like to be deployed everywhere? Then this vacancy is for you!
Cutting, dismantling and lifting. What your day looks like is determined by the project you are scheduled for and what qualities you have in‑house. The main task is the demolition of (petro)chemical installations and large steel structures such as bridges. You have technical insight and know how to operate the cutting torch safely and in a controlled manner. You carry out the work assigned to you in an efficient manner. You take good care of your equipment and tools and strictly adhere to the general and project‑specific rules and safety regulations.
You ensure that you perform your work safely. Anywhere and anytime. And if you identify a potentially dangerous situation, you should immediately report it to your manager.
DDM is an internationally operating company specializing in industrial dismantling, demolition, and the relocation of factories. We are among the top 50 demolition companies worldwide. In everything we do, safety, sustainability, and a people‑focused approach are central.
We are down‑to‑earth, practical, and hands‑on. At the same time, we place great value on a positive working atmosphere. During lunch breaks, we put our phones aside and play a round of Ludo or Jenga - because enjoying your work is simply part of who we are.
"When someone asks me what kind of work I do, I can never give a good answer. I do quite a few different things. Disassembly, assembly, welding and sometimes I work on the shovel or as a crane operator. That's the great thing about this work: if you aspire to something, it's possible. If you want to learn."
I am originally a construction fitter. Then I worked for a while as a welder at a shipyard. In the work I do now, everything comes together. I am currently at RWE in Germany. That's relatively close to home for me, I usually work further away. Greece, Malaysia; I think that's fantastic. It makes my work extra adventurous, I see something of the world again.
We have a good team. We have a lot of fun, but at the same time we are very serious. You need that in this job. You must be able to tell each other the truth, there must be a feeling of us. And there absolutely is.
What do you need to do this job well? Well, at least you have to be flexible. You must be a good listener, eager to learn and not afraid. If you are afraid of heights or claustrophobic, I wouldn't do it.

"DDM actually only does special projects. What someone else cannot or does not want to do, we do. But I always find cleaning flexicokers, in which heavy fuel oil is cracked, fantastic. I did it in Greece, next September I will do it in Rotterdam. A tough and tiring job, but with so much satisfaction afterwards. I'm already looking forward to it."
