Job summary

JD.COM is seeking an experienced Customs Compliance Specialist to manage end-to-end import and export declarations for European operations. You will review critical documents, coordinate with brokers and authorities, and monitor clearance progress to ensure timely releases.

The role requires 3+ years in customs, fluency in Chinese and English, and strong Excel/ERP-related skills. You will work with cross-functional teams to optimize processes and maintain accurate ledgers.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of industry experience.
• Experience in import/export customs clearance.
• Fluent in Chinese and English.
• Proficient in Excel; ERP/WMS/TMS knowledge is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Handle full-cycle customs declaration & clearance for import and export goods.
• Review and organize documents (invoice, packing list, bill of lading, contract) for accuracy and compliance.
• Liaise with customs brokers, freight forwarders and authorities to resolve clearance issues.
• Track declaration progress and handle abnormalities including inspections and amendments.
• Ensure import/export operations comply with regulations, tariffs, VAT and Incoterms.
• Maintain customs ledgers and update records and logistics status.
• Assist with tariff calculation and HS code classification.
• Analyze clearance lead time and abnormal cases; propose process improvements.
• Coordinate with logistics, warehouse and supply chain teams for smooth warehousing.

Job description

• Handle full-cycle customs declaration & clearance for import and export goods to guarantee smooth customs release.
• Review and organize customs documents (invoice, packing list, bill of lading, contract, etc.) to ensure accuracy and compliance.
• Liaise with customs brokers, freight forwarders and customs authorities to resolve clearance issues.
• Track customs declaration progress; handle abnormalities including inspection, document amendment and supplementary duty payment.
• Ensure import & export operations comply with customs regulations and trade rules to mitigate compliance risks.
• Maintain customs ledgers and update declaration records and logistics status.
• Assist with tariff calculation, HS code classification and relevant cost accounting.
• Analyze clearance lead time and abnormal cases, and propose process optimization suggestions.
• Coordinate with logistics, warehouse and supply chain teams for smooth goods warehousing.

About You

• Industry Experience: At least 3 years
• Relevant Role Experience: At least 3 years
• Education: Bachelor’s degree or above
• Language: Fluent in Chinese and English
• Professional Competencies: Candidates majoring in logistics, international trade or customs declaration are preferred. Must have hands‑on import and export customs clearance experience, be familiar with clearance procedures, customs policies, tariffs, VAT and Incoterms, and proficient in Excel. Prior experience in European import, overseas warehouse operations and ERP/WMS/TMS systems, plus relevant professional certificates are preferred. Strong coordination skills, meticulous, responsible, resilient under pressure and able to resolve operational abnormalities promptly.
