Company.info in Amsterdam seeks a CTO to drive strategy across technology, product and data, leading a European-scale software business built on a strong Dutch data foundation.
You will shape the architectural direction, ensure privacy by design, and align with KVK, data suppliers and managed services. The role focuses on building an engineering-driven culture and scalable growth.
Every day, banks, accountants, law firms and sales teams base their decisions on Company.info's data about all companies in the Netherlands. Now the market leader in Dutch business information is turning that trusted data into risk and compliance software that automates client processes and is built to scale across Europe. The CTO drives this shift together with Product.
Company.info, part of FD Mediagroep, leads the Dutch business information market and serves financial institutions, accountancy firms, law firms and other professional service providers. Its database covers 3.4 million companies and institutions with more than five hundred data points, from financial information and shareholder structures to company news and real estate data. Clients access it through an online portal, APIs, CRM integrations and bulk datasets.
This data business is the largest revenue pillar and keeps growing. On top of it, Company.info offers risk and compliance solutions such as compliance screening and UBO investigation, as well as KYC.app, a workflow solution that helps organizations streamline their KYC/KYB work. Behind it all is a team of more than a hundred people in Amsterdam, from nearly twenty nationalities, working in an open, informal culture.
"This role comes with a full seat at the table. You'll help set the course of the entire company and inspire the rest of the management team. It's about strategy as much as technology." - Job van Wagensveld CEO
The CTO guides Company.info as it builds a European software business on top of a strong Dutch data company. Much of the groundwork is done: the technology of three previously separate companies now runs on one stack that delivers data, APIs and applications.
The data business must keep growing while the ground shifts, with new KVK legislation in the making and Europe pushing toward free public data. The CTO makes the architectural choices that let the platform adapt, safeguards the quality and lawful use of the data and owns the relationships with KVK, data suppliers and key providers of managed services. At the same time, KYC/KYB workflow software and technology behind this commercial engine, from CRM and billing to the customer acquisition funnel, is also in the hands of the CTO.
The CTO and the Chief Product Officer both report to the CEO and form a strong, equal partnership. Product and Engineering never operate in isolation: together they co-own one unified product, technology and data roadmap, underpinned by shared quarterly OKRs, with product managers and engineers building and iterating side by side.
The technology organization consists of around 45 people. The engineers work in six cross-functional teams together with Product. The CTO shapes the organization, drives efficient delivery, decides what to build, buy or source and sets the direction for the major investments. Above all, this leader earns the trust of the engineers, recognizes their strengths and brings them along in the next transformation, from AI and a modern SDLC to managed services. That means developing engineering managers, raising the bar in hiring, building clear career paths and fostering a culture of ownership.
In the management team, the CTO brings the technology perspective to strategy and builds buy-in for major choices with colleagues and FD Mediagroep, including how closely to align with group tools and systems. Agentic engineering and AI are changing the craft of software engineering, and the CTO fully embraces this with an experience-based vision: moving fast, in a controlled way. As security officer, this leader is accountable for privacy by design and ISO 27001 compliance. Success looks like a healthy data business, a software platform that scales across borders and an engineering organization with growing AI capabilities and leadership.
