Job summary

WEBB Traders in Amsterdam seeks a Crypto Quantitative Trader to develop, test and refine data-driven trading strategies in the crypto market.

You will work with Trading, IT and Risk teams to build scalable, automated processes and to drive performance through rigorous analysis and innovative ideas.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in quantitative trading
• Strong mathematical background (Math/Stats/Econometrics/Finance/CS)
• Proficiency in Python and/or C++
• Creative problem-solving with new trading ideas
• Leadership skills and project coordination
• Excellent English communication (written and spoken)

The role

WEBB Traders is looking for a Crypto Quantitative Trader who thrives in a collaborative environment and is eager to build, test, and refine cutting‑edge trading strategies in the rapidly evolving crypto space — while also diving deep to gain insights into what it means to connect to crypto exchanges, how competitive the landscape is, and which strategies are likely to succeed.

What You’ll Do

• Develop and execute data‑driven strategies in financial markets
• Contribute to all aspects of the trading desk activities, including: position reconciliation, risk management tasks, and post‑trade analysis
• Work closely together with other Trading Teams, IT Development and the Risk department
• Continue building towards a more automated and data-driven trading environment and make it scalable and future proof
• Report key results of the team to the management board
• Effectively and critically challenging others when necessary

What You Bring To WEBB

• Quantitative expertise: Minimum of 5 years of experience with Quantitative Trading and demonstrable ability to build profitable quantitative strategies with a long term Sharpe Ratio of 3+
• Educational background: Strong mathematical background like Mathematics, Statistics, Econometrics, Finance or Computer Science
• Technical mastery: Experience with Python and/or other languages, such as C++
• Creative problem‑solver: Very creative and able to come up with new trading ideas and translate patterns into quantifiable trading models
• Leadership and drive: A driven, innovative, and enterprising team player with strong leadership skills, capable of managing projects end‑to‑end, coordinating effectively with other teams and ensuring seamless execution
• Analytical mindset: A strong analytical thinker, risk tolerant, stress resistant and up‑to‑date with latest development
• Language skills: You communicate effectively and clearly in English, both written and spoken
