Job summary

Q8 is seeking a strategic Credit Manager to lead the credit function across an international portfolio from Rotterdam or Antwerp. In this role, you will balance growth and control while driving cash conversion and credit decisions aligned with business objectives.

Exposure, cash and growth, three levers you know how to balance. As Credit Manager, you lead the credit function across a large international portfolio, ensuring that growth is supported by clear control, disciplined decision-making and consistent cash performance.

You are responsible for how the portfolio performs, maintaining a clear view on exposure, steering cash conversion and ensuring that credit decisions are aligned with both risk appetite and commercial objectives.

Operating at the intersection of finance and business, you work closely with senior management to bring structure, clarity and direction to credit decision-making, while leading and developing an international team that consistently delivers.

Your biggest challenge

Balance growth and control across a large, complex portfolio, while improving cash conversion and maintaining a clear grip on risk.

You take and defend decisions, drive performance through the team and challenge stakeholders where needed. Your actions have a direct impact on cash, exposure and overall portfolio performance.

This is a role with real scope and influence:

• Own the portfolio: Maintain a forward‑looking view on exposure, actively steering DSO, cash collection and risk concentration across a large and diverse customer base.
• Lead the function: Bring structure, clarity and accountability to the team, setting clear priorities and driving consistent execution.
• Take decisions: Define credit limits, approve complex cases and balance commercial opportunity with disciplined risk management.
• Drive governance: Lead the Credit Committee and ensure alignment between credit policy, risk appetite and business objectives.
• Partner the business: Act as a strong counterpart to commercial leadership and senior stakeholders, supporting growth while maintaining control.
• Working capital: Drive initiatives focused on cash conversion, balance sheet efficiency and overall portfolio performance.
• Strengthen the setup: Improve processes, reporting and systems to increase transparency, scalability and control.
• Turn insight into action: Translate portfolio data into clear recommendations and meaningful management information.
• Manage key relationships: Own interactions with customers, insurers and brokers on critical credit and risk matters.

• You hold a master’s degree in finance, economics or a related field.
• You bring 10+ years of experience in credit management or accounts receivable in an international context.
• You have a proven track record in leading and developing high‑performing teams and managing senior stakeholders.
• You combine strategic thinking with a hands‑on mindset.
• You make data‑driven decisions and translate insights into action.
• You communicate with confidence and influence at senior level.
• You have experience with SAP (S/4HANA is a plus).
• You are fluent in Dutch and English. French and German are a plus.
