Job summary

Frencken is seeking an intern to help build and complete COSHH documentation for substances used on-site, improving hazardous material management and compliance. You will collaborate with EHS, Production, QA and Business Excellence to deliver practical, data-driven recommendations and implement templates and checklists.

The role emphasizes hands-on analysis, structured data collection, and cross-functional communication within a factory setting, contributing to safety and efficiency improvements.

Qualifications

• Candidates should show interest in safety, compliance, and practical improvement projects.
• Comfortable in a factory environment and engaging with operators.
• Structured with attention to detail and ability to analyze information.
• Fluency in English and clear communication are essential.

Responsibilities

• Identify chemical substances used in production, maintenance, warehouses and laboratories.
• Consolidate data from ERP lists, locations, lines and SDS archives.
• Create a master list including product, supplier, code, storage, usage, quantities and hazard classifications.
• Collect SDS, extract hazards, PPE, storage, and emergency measures for each substance.
• Prepare COSHH assessments with use, exposure, control measures and residual risk.
• Validate assessments with EHS and process owners.
• Identify gaps, update documentation, and propose improvements using Hierarchy of Controls.
• Develop implementation templates, checklists, workflows and next steps.
