Job summary

Gigs, Amsterdam-based, is seeking a Controlling & Accounting Lead to own the financial backbone of a high-growth group. You will design and build the internal control framework, drive fast month-end close, and ensure scalable financial infrastructure across a global multi-entity structure.

You will lead a small team today and shape the finance function for an IPO-ready future, leveraging AI-native tools like Campfire and Ramp to automate controls and reporting.

The Role

We're looking for a Controlling & Accounting Lead to own the financial backbone of a high growth company building towards audit and IPO readiness. You'll ensure our accounting is rock-solid across a multi-entity global group structure, design and build out our internal control framework from the ground up, and drive our month-end-close to best-in-class speed. As we scale our global footprint, you'll be the person making sure our financial infrastructure keeps pace-all on a modern, AI-native tool stack that lets a lean team operate with the rigor of a much larger one. This is a rare chance to shape the finance function of a category-defining business at exactly the moment it matters most

What you will do

• Master the close. We've recently taken our accounting in-house and centralized all our financial data in a single AI-native ERP (Campfire), the infrastructure is there, it's now time to capitalize.
• Build an AI-native internal control framework. Design our control environment from the ground up, using our AI-native tool stack (incl. Campfire and Ramp) to embed controls into processes rather than bolting them on.
• Optimize our end-to-end process flows. Own and continuously improve the tooling and process design across all core cycles - P2P, R2R, O2C, and beyond-so they run cleanly and scale with us.
• Own management reporting. Deliver management reporting and surface granular, decision-ready insights that fuel our financial planning and analysis.
• Own technical accounting topics. Take ownership of our most technical topics-consolidation, revenue recognition, share-based compensation, and other areas that grow in relevance as we scale.
• Enable global expansion. Support the opening of new entities and help build the financial infrastructure behind our global footprint.
• Lead and grow the function. You'll lead a team of 2-3 today, with the opportunity to build it out as the company scales.
• Build the blueprint. You won't inherit a finance function and maintain it-you'll design the one we grow into, setting the foundation for an AI-native accounting team built for an IPO and beyond.

What we are looking for

• Someone that knows what it takes to build a finance function from the ground up (having an audit background is a major plus). Brings a can-do mentality to work everyday and deal with a dynamic environment in which priorities can shift on a weekly, if not daily basis. This role requires you to go above and beyond.
• Someone that can think from first principles and is comfortable building from scratch.
• Combination of strong operational accounting skill set with in-depth knowledge on technical accounting topics
• A storyteller that can contextualize numbers to drive relevant follow up actions and that can embed the controlling & accounting function more broadly in the organisation.
• Tech savvy with a clear vision and strategy on how to best leverage AI in a rapidly changing finance landscape.
• You are based in (or near) Amsterdam and are willing to work in the office for the majority of the time.
