About the company

Bluewater is a leading provider of innovative Single Point Mooring systems (SPM) and operator of Floating Production Storage and Offloading units (FPSO). Since its foundation in 1978, Bluewater has built a technological lead specialising in design, development, lease, and operation of tanker-based production and storage systems. The company currently owns and operates several FPSOs, including the Glas Dowr, Aoka Mizu, Bleo Holm, Hæwene Brim, and Munin.

About the job

As a Contracts Engineer, you will be part of our contracts team, responsible for managing and administrating all main contract activities on projects. You will work closely with the Project Team and other departments at Bluewater. Your responsibilities include:

  • Managing and administrating subcontracting activities on various projects, ensuring quality, timeliness, and budget adherence in accordance with the Company Management System (CMS).
  • Contributing to subcontracting strategies and preparing them in line with project objectives.
  • Leading the contracts aspect of projects as the Lead Contracts Engineer.
  • Preparing invitations to tender, evaluating proposals, and managing contracts through to close-out.
  • Evaluating and negotiating commercial and contractual matters, including technical evaluation of tenders.
  • Organizing and leading tender clarification meetings, tender board meetings, kick-off, and commercial meetings.
Requirements

We seek a dedicated Contracts Engineer with strong work ethics, attention to detail, and commercial awareness. The ideal candidate will have:

  • A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Quantity Surveying, Legal, Commerce, Business, Supply Chain Management, or an equivalent field.
  • 1-5 years of experience in contracting within the construction, engineering, or oil & gas industries, preferably with international exposure.
  • Experience managing a team of contractors is advantageous.
  • Knowledge of major re-measurable and lump sum EPC(IC) contracts.
  • A proactive mindset with the ability to add value continuously.
  • Excellent command of English, both verbal and written.
  • Willingness to travel for short-term overseas assignments and longer-term projects.
