Job Summary

Fokker Landing Gear, part of GKN Aerospace, is seeking a Configuration Management Engineer (Manufacturing Engineer) to join our Manufacturing Engineering team in Papendrecht, Netherlands. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring product configuration integrity throughout the entire product lifecycle within a highly regulated aerospace manufacturing environment. You will manage manufacturing data, product documentation, configuration control, and engineering change processes while supporting engineering, manufacturing, quality, and program teams.

A key focus of the role will be driving data governance and systems integration across our digital landscape, ensuring data accuracy, traceability, and alignment between engineering and manufacturing. This position offers a unique opportunity to influence how product data, compliance, and change management are managed across one of the world's leading aerospace manufacturing organizations.

Fokker Landing Gear is a recognized specialist in landing gear and related systems. We focus on the design and development, production and assembly of complete landing gears, as well as the repair and reassembly of systems already in use. We contribute to leading aerospace programs such as the Apache combat helicopter, F-35 Lightning II (JSF), Bombardier Dash 8 Q400, and the NH90 maritime combat helicopter.

Job Responsibilities
  • Lead and support configuration control and engineering change management activities.
  • Manage product structures, documentation, baselines, traceability, and change records throughout the product lifecycle.
  • Develop and maintain configuration management procedures and QMS documentation.
  • Support configuration audits, compliance activities, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Collaborate with Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, Supply Chain, and Program teams.
  • Support and optimize Windchill PLM and related product data processes.
What you'll bring
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering or a related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in Configuration Management, preferably within aerospace or another highly regulated manufacturing environment.
  • Strong understanding of configuration control, engineering change management, product lifecycle management (PLM), and document management processes.
  • Experience with PLM/PDM systems, ideally Windchill, and familiarity with engineering data, traceability, and configuration audits.
  • CM2 certification, project management experience, and exposure to low-volume, high-complexity manufacturing environments is strongly preferred.
  • Knowledge of aerospace quality standards (AS9100) and configuration governance throughout the product lifecycle.
  • Proven ability to collaborate effectively across Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, Supply Chain, and Program Management teams.
  • Analytical, structured, and detail-oriented, with strong communication and stakeholder management skills.

You are a proactive and collaborative professional who enjoys driving configuration integrity, data quality, and change management in a complex aerospace environment.
