Job summary

Serrala is a global leader in finance process automation, seeking a fully qualified lawyer to own its compliance framework and advise on commercial legal matters across international operations. The role includes contract negotiations, ESG initiatives, and support for business activities.

Responsibilities cover regulatory compliance, tenders, risk mitigation, audits, and certifications (ISO, SOC 2), with emphasis on Dutch, German, and European frameworks.

Qualifications

• Fully qualified lawyer with a degree in Law, Business Law, or a comparable field.
• Experience in compliance and general commercial legal matters, ideally international.
• Experience reviewing and negotiating customer contracts and advising stakeholders on legal topics.
• Broad understanding of Dutch, German, and European regulatory requirements.
• Strong analytical skills, business judgement, and a pragmatic, hands-on approach.
• Languages: Dutch (C2) and English (C1/C2); German (B2) an advantage.

• Identify, assess, and mitigate compliance risks; develop policies and processes.
• Deliver training and raise awareness on compliance topics across the organisation.
• Support audits, compliance reviews, and certifications (ISO, SOC 2).
• Lead ESG-related activities, including reporting and sustainability initiatives.

Education

Law degree or equivalent (Law, Business Law)

About the role:

This role combines ownership of Serrala's established compliance framework with broader legal responsibilities, including contract negotiations, legal advisory, ESG initiatives, and support for commercial business activities.

Your Day to Day:

• Monitor and ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements for a global provider of cash and payment solutions.
• Advise management and business stakeholders on compliance and general legal matters.
