Job summary

TenneT Offshore Netherlands seeks a Communications Advisor to strengthen strategic communication, aligning leaders, employees and stakeholders with organisational priorities and the energy transition. You will translate complex developments into clear, engaging narratives and collaborate with Corporate Communications and leadership across TenneT.

Qualifications

• At least 10 years of relevant experience in strategic and/or internal communication.
• Experience within the energy, infrastructure, construction or a comparable technical environment.
• Proven experience advising senior management or executive leadership on communication-related topics.
• Strong organisational sensitivity and stakeholder awareness.
• Excellent analytical skills with the ability to translate complex issues into clear and compelling narratives.
• Outstanding writing and editorial skills combined with a thoughtful and creative communication style.
• Affinity with the political, societal and media context in which TenneT operates.
• Fluency in Dutch and English, both spoken and written.

Responsibilities

• Translate complex business developments, organisational priorities and strategic objectives into compelling communication approaches, so that employees understand how their work contributes to Offshore Netherlands and TenneT’s ambitions.
• Ensure that Offshore Netherlands communication is aligned with TenneT-wide strategy, key narratives and corporate communication guidelines, so that communication consistently supports organisational priorities.
• Support large-scale change initiatives and transformation programmes with effective communication strategies and plans, so that organisational change is understood, supported and successfully implemented.
• Coordinate with Corporate Communications, Corporate Affairs and communication professionals across TenneT, so that communication activities are aligned in terms of content, timing and execution.
• Develop communication concepts, campaigns and communication solutions across a variety of channels and formats, so that key messages effectively reach and engage relevant target groups.

How will you help energise the Netherlands?

As a Communication Advisor, you are responsible for strengthening strategic communication within Offshore Netherlands, ensuring that employees, leaders and stakeholders are aligned with organisational priorities and strategic ambitions while contributing to a reliable, affordable and sustainable energy system. You advise the OFN Executive Director, Leadership Team and senior leaders on communication strategy, positioning, leadership communication and storytelling, so that strategic decisions are communicated clearly and consistently.

As a Communications Advisor you:

Additional context

As Communication Advisor, you support Offshore Netherlands in communicating strategic priorities, organisational developments and change initiatives. You advise leaders on communication-related topics and translate complex developments into clear and engaging communication.

Working closely with Corporate Communications, Corporate Affairs and communication colleagues across TenneT, you help ensure alignment with corporate communication guidelines and key narratives. You also contribute to communication and stakeholder engagement activities involving external parties such as 2GW partners, policymakers and NGOs.

As part of the Improvement & Support team, consisting of seven colleagues, you contribute to strategy implementation, internal communication and organisational development. Combining strategic insight with a hands‑on approach, you develop communication solutions that help leaders and employees understand the priorities and developments shaping Offshore Netherlands.

Offshore is verantwoordelijk voor de ontwikkeling, realisatie en het beheer van het offshore elektriciteitsnet. Met de Noordzee als groene motor van de energietransitie vervult Offshore een duidelijke en belangrijke rol binnen de organisatiestructuur van TenneT. De Offshore-divisie beheert de volledige levenscyclus van alle offshore-installaties van TenneT: van ontwikkeling en realisatie tot onderhoud en overdracht aan de Operate-divisie. Een cruciale taak hierbij is de bouw van 2 GW ‘offshore stopcontacten’, die opgewekte windenergie verzamelen en transporteren naar het vasteland.
