Job summary

Smulders HSM, a leading EPCIC contractor for offshore projects, seeks an experienced Commissioning Manager. You will set up the project commissioning system and lead the commissioning team from preparation through to execution, ensuring a professional, structured and safe commissioning process.

The role requires a degree in Electrical Engineering (MTS/HBO), relevant certifications, 5+ years in project execution in wind/oil/gas, and 3+ years as Commissioning Manager in large projects (>€30

Qualifications

• Completed MTS or HBO in Electrical Engineering.
• Certification as installation/work responsible for low-voltage installations.
• At least 5 years in project execution in wind/oil/gas.
• At least 3 years as Commissioning Manager or Engineer in large multi-disciplinary projects > €30M.
• Excellent command of English, spoken and written.
• Solid knowledge of electrical installation laws: ATEX, EMC, NEN 1010, NEN 3140, NEN-EN-IEC 60079-14.
• VCA-VOL certificate.
• Structured, safety-conscious, quality-driven.

Responsibilities

• Set up the project-specific commissioning system.
• Prepare and manage commissioning procedures.
• Establish and coordinate the commissioning team.
• Take over the Mechanical Completion system to start commissioning.
• Lead commissioning engineers during execution.
• Ensure clear, complete reporting throughout the process.
• Coordinate activities with the Project Manager, clients, subcontractors and other disciplines.
• Monitor progress, quality and safety during commissioning.
• Ensure compliance with regulations, project requirements and HSE standards.
