Job summary

Aldebaran Group seeks a DCS Commissioning Specialist to join the site team in Rotterdam for a major energy & industry project. You will validate DCS control logic, supervise loop checks and lead commissioning activities to ensure safe, reliable start-up of the facility.

The ideal candidate has a degree in Automation/Instrumentation or related field, 10+ years in industrial commissioning, extensive Yokogawa DCS experience, and fluent English.

Qualifications

• Degree in Automation, Instrumentation, Control Systems or related field.
• Minimum 10 years of relevant experience.
• Significant experience in industrial commissioning and DCS systems.
• Significant Yokogawa DCS experience.
• Experience on complex energy, chemical, petrochemical, hydrogen, oil & gas or process industries.

Overview

For a major industrial project in Rotterdam, we are looking for a Commissioning System Specialist / DCS Expert to join the site team during the commissioning phase. The successful candidate will support commissioning activities by ensuring the proper operation of the Distributed Control System (DCS), validating control logic implementation, and contributing to the successful start-up of the facility.

Responsibilities

• Perform a critical review of the existing DCS architecture and configuration.
• Support site teams in the execution of DCS-related commissioning activities.
• Conduct and supervise control logic verification (Logic Checks).
• Participate in functional testing of equipment and systems.
• Carry out Loop Checks and monitor the resolution of identified issues.
• Verify consistency between engineering documentation and on-site implementation.
• Analyze technical deviations and propose improvements when required.
• Challenge existing design choices to optimize system performance, reliability, and operability.
• Provide regular reporting to the project and commissioning teams.

Profile

• Degree in Automation, Instrumentation, Control Systems Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum 10 years of relevant experience.
• Significant experience in industrial commissioning and DCS systems.
• Significant experience with YOKOGAWA's systems.
• Experience on complex industrial projects within the energy, chemical, petrochemical, hydrogen, oil & gas, or process industries sectors.
• Strong knowledge of DCS systems and control system architectures.
• Fluent English communication skills, both written and spoken.
