Job summary

Hilton Rotterdam is seeking a Commis de Cuisine to join our kitchen team, focusing on the evening service in Jaq restaurant. You will support the team with mise-en-place, preparation and presenting dishes to Hilton's standards while upholding HACCP and hygiene.

What will you be doing? As a Commis de Cuisine, you support our kitchen team in delivering exceptional culinary experiences to our guests, with a particular focus on the evening service in Jaq, our restaurant. You keep your section stocked with the right mise‑en‑place, prepare and present dishes to Hilton's standards and recipes, and keep a close eye on food quality, presentation and portion control throughout the shift. Because Jaq also serves breakfast, lunch, banqueting events and room service, you regularly lend a hand there too, so no two days look exactly the same. You help keep the kitchen safe and hygienic by maintaining HACCP standards, support with inventory management and stock control, contribute to buffet presentations and food displays, and stay curious about new culinary trends and food presentation techniques.

What are we looking for? To apply for this role, three things are a must: you know cooking techniques and cutting techniques and have worked in a professional kitchen before, you already have a valid work permit for the Netherlands, and you live in or around Rotterdam. Everything else below is a pre, not a requirement. We love it when you bring a genuine passion for cooking and hospitality, a positive and proactive attitude, and the ability to stay sharp in a fast‑paced kitchen. You're a team player with strong communication skills, ideally with some knowledge of food safety and hygiene standards, and you're flexible to work mornings, evenings, weekends and public holidays.

• A salary of €2.468,35 gross per month based on 38 hours per week, according to salary scale III of the Horeca Collective Labour Agreement (CAO Horeca).
