Job summary

S4D is seeking a Medior .NET Backend Developer to design, build and operate robust cloud-based services. You will own backend features, write clean C# code for RESTful APIs and microservices, and deploy across our Azure-based platforms.

Collaborating with senior engineers, you'll emphasize testability, CI/CD, and quality, while adopting modern AI tooling to boost productivity and problem solving in a fast-growing SaaS environment in the Netherlands.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of backend software engineering with C# and .NET Core
• Proven experience delivering RESTful APIs or microservices to production
• Experience with message queues or event brokers such as Azure Service Bus, MassTransit, RabbitMQ, or Kafka
• Familiarity with core Microsoft Azure services and cloud-native concepts
• Automated unit testing (e.g., xUnit, NUnit) and clean code principles (SOLID, DRY)
• Strong communication and collaboration in an open, feedback-driven environment
• Must reside in the Netherlands and hold valid work authorization

Responsibilities

• Feature ownership across backend services from implementation to monitoring
• Develop modular C# code for .NET Core runtimes following architectural patterns
• Build and maintain asynchronous messaging workflows using Azure Service Bus and MassTransit
• Write unit and integration tests and participate in CI/CD workflows
• Engage in constructive code reviews and share technical knowledge with peers
• Leverage AI tooling to boost productivity and troubleshoot complex issues
