Job summary

Xebia in the Netherlands seeks a Cloud Architect for Xebia Cloud to act as the technical authority for client projects. You will design secure, scalable platforms on AWS and GCP, set guardrails, and lead teams through Well-Architected implementations in a hybrid delivery model across the Benelux.

You’ll mentor consultants, run discovery workshops, and present target-state blueprints to stakeholders. English is essential; Dutch is a plus. Offices in Hilversum and Amsterdam support collaboration.

Qualifications

• 5+ years IT experience with 3+ years cloud architecture and leadership.
• Deep expertise in AWS or GCP with professional certifications.
• Experience applying Well-Architected Frameworks and landing zones.
• Proficient in IaC (Terraform, CloudFormation, CDK) and microservices.
• Strong consulting and advisory communication; able to lead workshops.

The Role: Cloud Architect As a Cloud Architect at Xebia Cloud, you will serve as the technical authority and trusted advisor for our clients. You will bridge the gap between high-level business strategy and hands‑on engineering execution. You will design secure, scalable, highly available cloud platforms, define architectural guardrails, and lead engineering teams in implementing Well-Architected solutions. You'll wear many hats depending on the engagement—from conducting architectural reviews and leading technical discovery workshops to mentoring junior consultants and presenting target‑state blueprints to client stakeholders.

Job Requirements

To thrive as a Cloud Architect at Xebia, you bring:

• Experience: At least 5+ years of experience in IT, with 3+ years specifically focused on cloud architecture, design, and technical leadership.
• Cloud Mastery: Deep expertise in architectural solutions on AWS or Google Cloud Platform (GCP), backed by professional‑level certifications.
• Architectural Frameworks: Proven experience applying Well-Architected Frameworks, designing landing zones, IAM security models, networking architectures (VPC, Transit Gateway), and multi‑region deployment strategies.
• Modern Patterns: Strong understanding of cloud-native patterns, microservices, container orchestration (EKS/GKE), serverless architectures, and Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CloudFormation, CDK).
• Consulting & Advisory Skills: Excellent communication and presentation skills; proven ability to facilitate workshops, influence senior technical decision-makers, and articulate technical risks in business terms.
• Location & Language: Full working proficiency in English (Dutch proficiency is a strong advantage) and willingness to work in a hybrid setup split between home, client sites in the Benelux region, and our Hilversum/Amsterdam offices.
• Community & Mentorship: A strong desire to elevate others, mentor engineering teams, and contribute to Xebia's thought leadership presence.
