Job summary

ICON plc, a leading healthcare intelligence and CRO, is hiring a Clinical Research Associate II for its Biotech team. This fully remote role is based in the Netherlands with national travel as required.

You will monitor Phase I–III trials, ensure ICH-GCP compliance, manage site visits, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality data and patient safety. Dutch and English fluency are essential.

Qualifications

• Life science degree or equivalent.
• 2+ years' experience as a Clinical Research Associate in CRO/Pharma.
• Knowledge of ICH-GCP and regulatory requirements.
• Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency with clinical trial systems and tools.
• Fluency in Dutch and English (spoken and written).

Responsibilities

• Manage clinical studies in the Netherlands for SME biotech sponsors.
• Monitor Phase I–III trials per ICH-GCP.
• Conduct site qualification, initiation, monitoring, and close-out visits.
• Manage study documentation, regulatory submissions, and ethics approvals.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure data quality and patient safety.
• Ensure study cost efficiency and timely issue resolution.

We are currently seeking experienced Clinical Research Associate II (CRA II) professionals to join our dynamic and collaborative Biotech team.

Our Biotech division of over 8,000 professionals operates with the agility and mindset of a small to mid-sized biopharma company. We understand the unique pressures biotech organizations face in delivering innovative therapies to market. Through tailored teams and dedicated management, we partner closely with our biotech clients — engaging, collaborating, and sharing accountability to ensure successful clinical trial delivery.

This is a fully remote role based in The Netherlands, with national travel as required.

What You’ll Do:

• Managing clinical studies in the Netherlands for Small and Medium sized Biotech sponsors, across multiple therapeutic areas.
• Independently monitor Phase I–III clinical trials to ensure compliance with ICH-GCP and regulatory requirements
• Conduct site qualification, initiation, monitoring, and close-out visits
• Manage study documentation, regulatory submissions, and ethics/IRB approvals
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and site staff to ensure high-quality data and patient safety
• Ensure study cost efficiency and timely issue resolution

What You Bring:

• Life science degree or equivalent
• 2 years or more experience as a Clinical Research Associate, with an understanding of clinical trial processes and regulatory requirements within a CRO or Pharma environment.
• Knowledge of clinical trial processes and regulatory standards
• Excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving skills
• Proficiency with clinical trial systems and tools
• Fluency in Dutch and English both Spoken and Written.
• This is a remote role with willingness to travel across Netherlands
• Should possess a valid driver’s license.
