The EHA Academic Clinical Trials Support (ACTS) initiative, which is part of the EHA Foundation, aims to:

• Provide clinical research centers across Europe with the necessary tools to join large collaborative clinical trials
• Connect collaborative clinical trials networks with centers from less-represented countries

Improving access to clinical trials for patients and academic groups is of fundamental importance. EHA ACTS will develop tools and foster networks that will facilitate the inclusion of patients from less-represented areas in Europe.

We are looking for a Clinical Project Manager (EHA Foundation)—a seasoned specialist who has prior experience of working with academic clinical trials. The candidate must have an active interest in hematology.

About the role

The Clinical Project Manager at the EHA Foundation will support academic centers, particularly those from less-represented countries, that aim to participate in clinical trials.

The manager will also be instrumental in establishing the ACTS initiative by defining and structuring the business plan (including the project’s budget, objectives, timelines, and resources) while ensuring that all relevant stakeholders are informed and involved.

Once established, the primary objective of this role is to assist these centers.

You will work independently under the EHA Foundation and report to its Managing Director.

Important information about this opportunity

Only candidates who live in the Netherlands will be considered. If you are a non-EU/EEA national, you must possess a valid work permit for the Netherlands.

Your core responsibilities

Academic center support

• Provide guidance, support, and resources to academic centers.
• Assist in the preparation of trial/study documentation.
• Ensure centers understand regulatory requirements.
• Help identify suitable (trial support) opportunities.
• Collaborate with academic researchers and external partners.
• Facilitate communication between stakeholders.
• Establish and maintain connections with relevant experts for specific support (e.g. legal, financial, regulatory).
• Maintain strong relationships with sponsors and collaborators.
• Represent the foundation in meetings and conferences.

Resource allocation

• Assist academic centers in identifying necessary resources.
• Provide access to tools, templates, and best practices.
• Support centers in design, planning, and resource management.
• Monitor resources utilization and efficiency.

Networking and outreach

• Establish and maintain networks with relevant stakeholders.
• Facilitate connections between centers and potential collaborators.
• Participate in key events to promote the foundation’s mission.
• Develop outreach strategies to engage underrepresented centers.

Training and development

• Design training for research staff on trial protocols and procedures.
• Develop and deliver workshops, guidelines, and seminars.
• Mentor junior staff and interns.

Your profile

• Education: A Master’s degree in science(s) or pharmacy, or an MBA.
• Experience: At least five years of project management experience, preferably in clinical research organizations, health, or pharma companies. Experience pf working with strategies, operations, and budgets.
• Availability: 40 hours per week.
• Knowledge: clinical research, clinical trials management, and regulations at the European level (working experience within Europe is a must).
• Excellent project management skills.
• Good understanding of clinical trial regulations and guidelines.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
• Proficiency in data management and analysis tools.
• Experience in academic research settings.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
• Willingness to travel outside the Netherlands on a regular basis (mostly within Europe).
