Our client is a well-funded, cutting-edge startup revolutionizing biomedical technology. Their mission is to push the boundaries of what’s possible in medical hardware, leveraging innovative engineering solutions to develop next-generation biomedical devices. They are seeking a highly skilled Chip Designer to help design and optimize ultra-low-power communication systems critical to their products.
The Role
Our client is looking for a Chip Designer with deep experience in ARM Cortex-M4 class microcontrollers and ultra-low-power platforms such as Ambiq Apollo. The ideal candidate combines strong embedded systems expertise with practical RF and analog experience, including hands‑on prototyping using breadboards and filter design.
This role is heavily focused on power-sensitive embedded systems, where radio performance, signal integrity, and battery life are tightly coupled. You will work at the intersection of firmware, hardware, and RF, building efficient, reliable systems for biomedical applications.
Tasks & Responsibilities
- Develop and optimize firmware for ARM Cortex-M4 and Ambiq Apollo microcontrollers in ultra-low-power environments;
- Design and prototype low-frequency RF circuits using breadboards for rapid iteration and validation;
- Implement and tune RF filters to improve signal quality, reduce noise, and ensure stable communication;
- Optimize power consumption across MCU, radio, and peripheral subsystems;
- Work closely with hardware engineers to co-design embedded + RF systems with tight performance constraints;
- Perform system-level debugging, including signal analysis, timing issues, and interference mitigation;
- Support integration of RF communication stacks into embedded firmware;
- Ensure designs meet regulatory and EMC requirements.
Your profile
- Strong experience with ARM Cortex-M4 (or similar) microcontrollers;
- Hands-on experience with Ambiq Apollo (or comparable ultra-low-power platforms) is highly desirable;
- Proven background in embedded C/C++ development with a focus on performance and power optimization;
- Practical experience with breadboarding and hardware prototyping;
- Solid understanding of RF fundamentals, particularly in low-frequency systems;
- Experience designing and implementing analog/RF filters (low-pass, band-pass, etc.);
- Familiarity with power management techniques for battery-operated devices;
- Experience with debugging tools (oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, logic analyzers);
- Understanding of signal integrity, noise reduction and interference mitigation.
If you are passionate about ultra-low-power embedded systems, RF engineering, and real-world hardware development, we encourage you to apply. Help shape the future of biomedical technology!
