Job summary

Fixico, a fast-growing car damage repair platform, is seeking a Chief Technology Officer to lead the Engineering organisation across Amsterdam and Sri Lanka.

As CTO you will own delivery, people, and operational excellence, partnering with the Founder/CEO and CPO to align product and engineering. You will build a world-class engineering function, create a culture of ownership and continuous improvement, and drive the US expansion strategy.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of Engineering leadership experience as a senior manager or executive.
• Previous experience as a CTO, VP Engineering, Head of Engineering or similar leadership role in a SaaS, marketplace or tech company.
• Proven experience scaling Engineering organisations in fast-growing scale-ups or high-growth environments.
• Strong people leadership with coaching, mentoring and talent development.
• Experience leading distributed and international Engineering teams.

• Lead and develop Fixico's global Engineering organisation across Amsterdam and Sri Lanka.

We are Fixico, a fast-growing car damage repair platform backed by world-class Silicon Valley investors, scaling rapidly across Europe. Trusted by fleet operators, insurers, and OEMs, we connect over 250 businesses with 4,000+ repair shops across 11 countries. And now, we're taking our next big step: the US market.

The role

Technology is at the heart of everything we do. As we continue to scale and accelerate our expansion into the US, we're looking for a Chief Technology Officer to lead our Engineering organisation into its next phase of growth.

As our CTO, you'll report directly to our Founder/CEO and be responsible for the overall Engineering organisation, delivery, people, and operational excellence. You'll lead an international Engineering team across Amsterdam and Sri Lanka (20+ engineers), creating an environment where high-performing teams can thrive while delivering a reliable, scalable platform.

You'll work in close partnership with our Chief Product Officer (CPO) to ensure Product and Engineering operate as one team. Together, you'll translate customer needs into scalable, high-quality solutions, bringing a strong customer-centric mindset to everything we build.

This is a leadership role first and foremost. We're looking for a genuine people leader who is passionate about building, coaching, and growing high-performing teams. You'll create clarity, develop leaders, empower engineers, and foster a culture of ownership, collaboration, continuous learning, and accountability. You believe that outstanding technology is built by outstanding people.

You'll also work very closely with our Principal Engineer, who owns the technical vision, architecture, and engineering craftsmanship. While the Principal Engineer drives technical direction, you'll focus on building a world-class Engineering organisation, enabling delivery, scaling the team, and creating the conditions for technical excellence to flourish

What you'll do

Lead and develop Fixico's global Engineering organisation across Amsterdam and Sri Lanka.

Build, coach and scale a high-performing Engineering leadership team.

Own Engineering delivery, execution, planning and operational excellence across all teams.

Drive Engineering strategy in close partnership with the Founder & CEO, Product and Commercial leadership.

Create an environment where Engineers can grow, perform and do their best work.

Own hiring across the Engineering organisation, from individual contributors to Engineering leadership.

Lead performance management, career development and succession planning across Engineering.

Ensure Engineering teams consistently deliver high-quality software on time and at scale.

Own Engineering budgets, vendor management and technology operations.

Lead operational excellence, including engineering KPIs, delivery processes, incident management and service reliability.

Take ownership of Engineering compliance initiatives, including ISO27001, SOC2, security and operational governance.

Partner closely with the Principal Engineer to translate business priorities into scalable technical execution.

Foster a culture of accountability, ownership, collaboration and continuous improvement.

Requirements

What you bring

10+ years of Engineering leadership experience, including leading managers and senior Engineering teams.

Previous experience as a CTO, VP Engineering, Head of Engineering or similar leadership role within a SaaS, marketplace or technology company.

Proven experience scaling Engineering organisations in a fast-growing scale-up or high-growth environment.

Strong people leadership skills with a passion for coaching, mentoring and developing talent.

Experience leading distributed and international Engineering teams.

Strong operational mindset with experience driving delivery, planning and execution.

Experience building Engineering processes, organisational structure and scalable ways of working.

Excellent stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence at board and executive level.

Experience partnering closely with Product and Commercial teams.

Comfortable balancing long-term strategy with hands-on operational leadership.

You are fluent in English. Dutch is a plus.

Based in the Netherlands.

Nice to have

Experience working with Engineering teams across multiple countries and time zones.

Experience in mobility, automotive, SaaS or marketplace businesses.

Experience preparing organisations for rapid international expansion.

Familiarity with compliance frameworks such as ISO27001 and SOC2.
