Job summary

The July, a premium hospitality brand, seeks a Chief Financial Officer to join its Executive Board and shape growth across its European portfolio of hotel assets. You will oversee accounting, reporting, treasury, tax, legal and IT, while driving strategic leadership and hands-on execution.

You will lead ~13 finance professionals and build a scalable organisation, partnering with the CEO/COO to deliver value creation across transitions and new developments.

Qualifications

• Experienced C-level finance leader with international experience.
• Expertise in treasury, financing and cash management.
• Experience scaling organisations or transactions.
• Ability to translate financial insights into strategic decisions.
• Proven leadership of high-performing finance teams.
• Strong stakeholder management with shareholders, lenders and auditors.
• Analytical and problem-solving skills; able to bring structure to complex situations.
• Hospitality background desirable.
• Fluent in English; based in Amsterdam or willing to work from Amsterdam.

The Job

As Chief Financial Officer, you will be a key member of the Executive Board and a strategic partner to the CEO and COO, playing a central role in shaping and executing The July’s strategy and growth across its European portfolio of leased, owned and developed hotel assets.

You will lead a broad scope of responsibilities, including accounting & audit, reporting, business control, forecasting, treasury, cash management, financing, tax, legal and compliance, while overseeing risk management and IT/Tech, including Data & AI.

Leading a team of around 13 direct and indirect reports, you will further build and professionalise the organisation while combining strategic leadership with a hands-on, entrepreneurial approach. This is a high-impact role for a CFO who thrives in a dynamic environment and wants to play a central role in driving growth, investment and long-term value creation.

Key Responsibilities

• Statutory director in group entities
• Provide strategic financial leadership to support The July’s growth, investment and value creation objectives.
• Oversee all financial operations, including accounting, reporting, treasury, tax and audit, ensuring transparency and control across multiple jurisdictions.
• Lead the Legal, Compliance, Risk and IT functions, fostering sound governance, data integrity and regulatory alignment.
• Partner closely with the CEO and COO to steer the business across new developments and existing assets and contribute to the leadership of the Executive Team.
• Manage relationships with shareholders, auditors, lenders and key advisory partners, representing The July externally with professionalism and credibility.
• Provide financial oversight and active involvement in pre-opening and development projects, ensuring delivery within agreed financial and operational parameters.
• Offer pragmatic, hands-on support to the Executive and Finance teams, enabling effective execution and capability building throughout the company’s scale-up phase.
• Lead, develop and further professionalise a high-performing finance organisation, currently comprising 9 professionals, spanning both direct and indirect reporting lines.

• You are a strong business partner who can translate financial insights into strategic decisions that support growth, investment and long-term value creation.
• You are an inspirational leader who knows how to build, develop and motivate high-performing finance teams.
• You are a confident and credible stakeholder manager, comfortable engaging with shareholders, lenders, auditors and key advisors.
• You have strong analytical and problem-solving skills and are able to bring structure and clarity to complex situations.
• Experience in accounting, reporting and business control is a strong advantage.
• A background in hospitality, ideally within a scaling organisation, is highly desirable.
• You are fluent in English, both verbally and in writing, and are based in or willing to work from Amsterdam.
