Job summary

University of Groningen invites a postdoctoral researcher to join the Lerch Research Group at the Stratingh Institute. The project develops innervated soft robotic hands and chemically-driven robotics, integrating sensing, microfluidics, and actuator design in an international, interdisciplinary team.

The successful candidate will design reaction networks, model dynamics, and supervise students, contributing to a fast-moving, high-profile research program. Acquisition is not appreciated.

Qualifications

  • Ph.D. in synthetic and systems chemistry or equivalent.
  • Proven track record in designing reaction networks and microfluidic setups.
  • Experience with kinetic modelling and analytical techniques.
  • Strong publication record and international visibility.
  • Leadership experience supervising students and project management skills.

Responsibilities

  • Design reaction networks that propagate chemical signals to actuators.
  • Model and predict signalling dynamics.
  • Develop robotic prototypes with microfluidic channels.
  • Build and maintain chemical and robotic setups.
  • Train and supervise students in a multidisciplinary lab.
