We have a professional team consisting of a mix of young and experienced people with different backgrounds and experiences. Together we strengthen global healthcare and help advance the pharmaceutical product quality and patient safety worldwide.

Job Description

As a Chemical Analyst within the QC laboratory, you will be independently responsible for the execution and reporting of physical/chemical analyses of pharmaceutical raw materials. Working at Eurofins means an opportunity to develop yourself. You can apply and develop your skills with analytical techniques, such as identity testing, Karl Fischer, FTIR, UV testing, optical rotation, and TLC. The techniques you will perform depend on your own development and interests, and of course on the experience you may already bring with you. Once you have some experience, you can also contribute to optimizing and making work processes more efficient. This will keep you challenged to continue developing yourself.

Responsibilities
  • Independently performing physical and (wet) chemical analytical techniques, such as UV testing, FTIR, Karl Fischer titration, optical rotation, TLC, pH, and identity testing.
  • Reporting test results according to prescribed procedures.
  • Completing various on‑the‑job training courses for certification in lab techniques and GMP. In the future, also training new colleagues.
  • Work meetings with project teams and lab teams.
  • Assisting in setting up various projects, such as testing new equipment, initiating customer projects, and improving internal work processes.
Qualifications

You aspire to a position as a Chemical Analyst within a QC environment that works accurately and takes responsibility for carrying out daily activities. You also meet the following requirements:

  • You have a diploma at MBO (Secondary vocational education) or HBO level (university of applied sciences / polytechnic university) in Analytical Chemistry, Chemistry / Chemistry, Organic Chemistry or a comparable course that makes you familiar with chemical analyses.
  • You are a starter or you already have some experience with carrying out chemical lab tests.
  • Experience in pharmaceuticals is an advantage, but experience in related industries.
  • You are motivated and eager to learn and can quickly master new techniques.
  • You have preferably gained experience with wet chemical analysis techniques during your internships or your first job, such as FTIR, LOD, SOR, UV and titrations.
  • You preferably have experience working according to a quality system such as GMP, GLP or ISO‑17025.
  • You are vigilant about the quality of your own work and that of your colleagues.
  • You have a good command of the English language, both written and oral, for example for reading work instructions.
  • You are able to work effectively both independently and in a team.
  • You are able to work under time pressure and can organize and plan your work independently.

Please note: We require applicants to be located in the Netherlands, within reasonable distance of our site in Leiden and in possession of a valid work permit.
