Job summary

AddOptics in Rotterdam is seeking a Casting Engineer to join our production team. You will own the casting workflow for prescription AR lenses, while also prototyping tools, jigs and fixtures using 3D printers and laser cutters.

You'll measure and analyze products to ensure top-quality lenses reach customers worldwide, with a focus on precision, ownership, and hands-on problem solving. Ideal for 2nd/3rd year BSc or MSc students seeking real-world hardware experience.

Qualifications

• Hands-on engineering experience in prototyping labs or makerspace.
• Experience with 3D printers and laser cutters.
• Familiarity with 3D CAD tools such as Fusion 360.

Responsibilities

• Execute the casting process for prescription AR lenses as part of the production team.
• Design improvements using prototyping tools, operating 3D printers and laser cutters to create fixtures.
• Perform measurements and quality checks to ensure high-quality lenses for global customers.
