Job summary

NES Fircroft is seeking a Specialist Calibration Technician for a state-of-the-art Cell Therapy facility in Leiden. You will join the Reliability Engineering team to keep equipment accurate, reliable and compliant with GMP requirements.

Responsibilities include calibrations, documentation in CMMS, and supporting automation systems. 3–5 years of experience and MBO Level 4 or equivalent are preferred, with strong English communication. This is an on-site role with occasional on-call duties.

Qualifications

• MBO Level 4 or equivalent technical qualification, preferably in maintenance/instrumentation/engineering.
• Approximately 3–5 years of experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment.
• Hands-on experience with calibration activities.
• Knowledge of instrumentation and different calibration methods.
• Experience in GMP, cGMP or GxP-regulated environment.
• Familiarity with SOPs, EHS requirements and technical documentation.
• Good written and spoken English; proactive and independent work style.

• Support troubleshooting and resolve technical calibration issues.

• Ensure calibration tools and equipment are properly maintained and stored.
• Support Building or Process Automation Systems related to calibration activities.
• Participate in on-call duties and occasional weekend or overtime work.

Are you an experienced calibration or instrumentation professional who enjoys working in a highly regulated manufacturing environment? For a state-of-the-art Cell Therapy facility in Leiden, we are looking for a Specialist Calibration Technician to join the Reliability Engineering team.

In this role, you will play an important part in ensuring that equipment and instruments remain accurate, reliable and compliant with GMP requirements. You will work in a technically advanced environment where quality, patient safety and operational continuity are key.

What will you be doing?

• Coordinate and perform planned and unplanned calibrations on equipment and instrumentation
• Ensure calibration activities performed by external service providers meet GMP/EHS requirements
• Support troubleshooting and resolve technical calibration issues
• Maintain accurate calibration records in CMMS and document management systems
• Assist in developing and improving calibration procedures
• Ensure calibration tools and equipment are properly maintained and stored
• Support Building and Process Automation Systems related to calibration activities
• Participate in on-call duties and, when required, occasional weekend or overtime work

What are we looking for?

• MBO Level 4 or equivalent technical qualification, preferably in maintenance, instrumentation, electrical engineering, process technology or a related discipline
• Approximately 3–5 years of experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment
• Hands‑on experience with calibration activities
• Knowledge of instrumentation and different calibration methods
• Experience working in a GMP, cGMP or GxP-regulated environment
• Familiarity with SOPs, EHS requirements and technical documentation
• Experience with CMMS systems; knowledge of IBM Maximo is a strong advantage
• Experience with Building or Process Automation Systems is beneficial
• Good written and spoken EnglishProactive, independent and comfortable working in a hands‑on technical environment
