Job summary

IMC, an Amsterdam-based trading firm, develops an in-house software stack that processes real-time market data and executes algorithms with extreme speed. We connect to global exchanges and integrate leading hardware where software alone isn’t fast enough.

As a software engineer on the C++ Execution team, you’ll own end-to-end product development, collaborating with engineers, traders, researchers, and quants. You’ll balance performance with reliability across a complex system landscape.

Qualifications

• 2-3 years of professional software experience post-graduation.
• Strong knowledge of algorithms and data structures.
• Solid skills in modern C++ (C++17 or later).
• Interest in how software runs on hardware: memory, caches, networking.
• Adaptable in a rapidly evolving environment.
• Ability to solve problems creatively and proactively.
• Curiosity and willingness to learn; interest in financial markets.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain systems that connect IMC to exchanges.
• Implement and optimise execution logic with traders and quants.
• Work with hardware teams to integrate FPGA-based systems and low-latency networks.
• Measure, profile, and improve performance of systems.
• Develop expertise across the full software lifecycle.
