Brivo is seeking a Software Engineer with strong C and Python experience to build large-scale distributed systems. You will develop, optimize, and maintain cloud-distributed applications in Linux environments, focusing on event-driven, multi-threaded architectures.

You will work from Amsterdam, collaborating across teams to design low-level services, improve performance, and ensure robust TCP/IP and HTTP APIs. Agile and autonomous work style is valued.

Qualifications

• Minimum 4+ years hands-on experience developing Linux systems in C and Python.
• Experience with distributed, event-driven, multi-threaded systems on Linux.
• Familiarity with POSIX APIs and Linux libraries/frameworks.
• Understanding of how Linux distributions work.
• Advanced troubleshooting (including core dumps).
• Experience with containers (Docker, Podman, Kubernetes).
• Experience with TCP/IP and HTTP APIs.
• Good working knowledge of Git.

Brivo is seeking seeking a Software Engineer familiar with event-driven C programming, Python backend microservices, and building large-scale distributed applications.

Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain, and expand new functionality and feature sets for cloud-distributed C applications.
• Build, design, and optimize low-level services and systems from the ground up.
• Maintain and improve existing C/Python applications and services.
• Work within heavily event-driven, multi-threaded Linux environments.
• Optimize software performance at a low level across distributed systems.

Requirements

• Minimum 4+ years hands-on experience developing Linux systems on C and Python.
• Experience working on distributed, event-driven, multithreaded systems on Linux platforms.
• Familiarity with POSIX APIs and state-of-the-art Linux libraries and frameworks.
• Good understanding of how Linux distributions work.
• Advanced troubleshooting skills (up to application layer, including core dump analysis).
• Experience with container technologies (Docker, Podman, Kubernetes, etc.).
• Experience with TCP/IP and HTTP APIs.
• Good working knowledge of Git.
• Being agile and autonomous is a must.

Bonus Skills

• Experience with at least one other programming language beyond C and Python.
• Packaging experience on at least one Linux distribution.
• Familiarity working on Open Source projects.
