Job description

At a glance

Are you ready for a challenging role within the Grid Customer Interaction & Conversational? Together with talented colleagues, you will work on delivering seamless, personalized, and valuable interactions with customers across all digital platforms. As a Business Developer, you are responsible for optimizing interaction solutions and enhancing customer interactions using Conversational AI and Advisor-Assist technologies.

The role of Business Developer Conversational AI is a challenging position where you have the opportunity to develop new concepts, substantiate them with a business case, and effectively communicate your ideas to stakeholders. Do you have ideas on how we can further improve the digital Customer Journey for our customers? As a Business Developer within the Customer Interaction & Conversational grid, you will focus on these tasks daily and work as an internal consultant (advisory role) both within and outside the grid, collaborating with stakeholders across various departments of the bank. This role is crucial in enhancing user interaction, promoting financial self-reliance, and increasing awareness in the digital age.

The primary objectives of the conversational AI teams are to develop a platform that fosters intuitive, human-like interactions and anticipates user needs. This involves seamless integration of conversational AI across all digital (customer facing) channels, ensuring accessibility and effectiveness. The teams work with cutting-edge technology with user-centric design, transforming conversational chat into a continuous personal dialogue. By facilitating engaging interactions, users will find it easier to access relevant information, enhancing overall satisfaction and engagement. Establishing our conversational Dialogue as a market leader will elevate our brand reputation and foster customer loyalty, setting a benchmark for innovation in digital interactions. Conversational guidance is moving towards more specialised personal advice, in all digital channels.

Your job

As a Business Developer you join the teams working on Conversational AI (including chatbots, Search and conversational IVR and Advisor Assist). You feel at home in an agile environment and understand the work developers in the team are doing. Additionally, you have experience with the development process and are capable of translating a new feature or service concept into a practical, executable request with an estimation of business value and a high-level technical assessment of what is needed to realize it.

As a Business Developer for Digital Channels, you look ahead. You enjoy working on new innovative concepts and are able to articulate your vision and strategy for improving digital customer interaction, bringing colleagues along with your vision. You can quickly grasp complex matters and translate them into clear and convincing documentation for a wide variety of stakeholders, always backed by data and customer insights. You formulate requirements and user stories for software development. You create plans and roadmaps. You formulate hypotheses, analyze, and provide recommendations. But that’s not all—you also ensure execution. You set up experiments, oversee development, and ensure successful implementation.

In all your projects, you collaborate—collaboration is always your preferred approach. You work independently within a team of professionals and effortlessly navigate the organization. Your teams consist of product owners, Business Developers, Conversational Designers, UX experts, Business analysts, and developers. Together with them, you innovate, evolve, and have fun along the way.

Working environment

The department resembles a startup more than a corporate office. Feel free to wear sneakers, as your expertise is valued over formal attire. At Grid CI&C, you have the freedom and responsibility to truly help customers and employees move forward. You work results-oriented on serious solutions that aid customers in managing a key aspect of their lives: their finances. No endless inspiration sessions, but also no strict "no" to every out-of-the-box plan you conceive. It's innovative-practical work.

Your profile

  • Approximately 5 years of work experience at a higher professional education (HBO) or academic (WO) level, familiar with the agile way of working and the SCRUM methodology.
  • Strong in communication and able to translate vision and customer needs into solutions.
  • Experience with digital customer contact channels or customer journey optimization.
  • Knowledge of and affinity with IT development, management, and systems.
  • Experience defining requirements and analyzing business processes.
  • Experience creating business cases.
  • Experience with portfolio management and roadmap development.

We are offering

  • The gross monthly salary is based on a 36-hour workweek, including vacation allowance and Benefit Budget.
  • The Benefit Budget amounts to 11% of your salary. If you do not make any purchases or reservations in the Benefit Shop during a month, you will receive one-twelfth of your Benefit Budget for that month as a payout.
  • Five weeks of vacation per year, with the option to purchase an additional four weeks per year.
  • A Personal Development Budget of €1,000 per year, which can be saved up to €3,000.
  • The possibility to work from home (in consultation with your team and depending on your role).
  • An annual public transport subscription with free travel throughout the Netherlands.
  • An excellent pension scheme.
