Job summary

AssetCare in Amsterdam is seeking a Business Consultant to join the self-managing team, leading funds projects and migrations, translating fund manager wishes into actionable plans and guiding setup and go-live on the AssetCare platform.

You will advise fund managers on structures and onboarding, act as a central project manager coordinating between client, legal partners, banks, brokers, custodians, operations and software engineering, and contribute to the product roadmap.

Qualifications

• Completed university degree (WO) in finance, economics or law.
• Experience (medior+ or senior) in consultancy/project management within financial services.
• Sharp instinct for leading multidisciplinary projects; manage scope and planning.
• Affinity with product development in a product-led environment.
• Strong analytical skills to grasp complex legal, financial and operational issues.
• Entrepreneurial mindset with pragmatic, results-oriented approach; fluent Dutch and English.

Responsibilities

• Advise fund managers on fund structures, operations, onboarding to AssetCare platform, and coordinating the fund documentation.
• Act as central project manager throughout implementation projects: safeguarding scope, planning, dependencies and progress, and liaising between the client, legal partners, banks, brokers, custodians, operations and software engineering.
• Initiating new platform functionality: identifying opportunities from practice, substantiating the functional design and guiding its realisation together with Data & Engineering and Fund Accounting.
• Translating structural bottlenecks and wishes from client projects into concrete improvement proposals, and contributing to the product roadmap by sharing market and client insights with Product and Data & Engineering and thinking along on prioritisation.
• Supporting the sales process for more complex projects, from initial exploration and quotation to contractual completion, and contributing to the commercial strategy by thinking along on positioning, propositions and the distinctive strengths of AssetCare.
• Building and maintaining a relevant network of fund managers, advisers and other market parties

WHAT WILL YOU DO?

As a Business Consultant at AssetCare, you are part of the self-managing Business Consulting Team, in which you and your direct colleagues divide the projects among yourselves and determine the approach. You are the driving force behind new funds and complex migration projects. The Business Consultant acts as project leader and substantive sparring partner: you translate the wishes of fund managers into concrete, actionable plans and guide the entire set-up and implementation – from structuring advice and operational set-up to go-live on the AssetCare platform.

Main responsibilities are:

• Advising fund managers on fund structures, operational choices and onboarding to the AssetCare platform, and coordinating the fund documentation: the information memorandum/prospectus together with a legal partner and the Key Information Document (KID) via our own software;
• Acting as central project manager throughout implementation projects: safeguarding scope, planning, dependencies and progress, and liaising between the client, legal partners, banks, brokers, custodians, operations and software engineering;
• Initiating new platform functionality: identifying opportunities from practice, substantiating the functional design and guiding its realisation together with Data & Engineering and Fund Accounting;
• Translating structural bottlenecks and wishes from client projects into concrete improvement proposals, and contributing to the product roadmap by sharing market and client insights with Product and Data & Engineering and thinking along on prioritisation;

As a Business Consultant, you work at the intersection of investment funds, technology and operations, contributing to scalable solutions that support the further growth of AssetCare. This calls for a role in which in-depth knowledge of investment funds, strong project management and a feel for product development come together. The position evolves along with the growth of the organisation.

Other relevant qualifications for this profile:

• A completed university degree (WO), preferably in finance, economics or law, and an interest in and knowledge of the financial and/or investment world.
• Demonstrable experience (medior+ or senior) in a consultancy, project management or client-facing role within financial services, fund services or fintech.
• You have a sharp instinct for leading multidisciplinary projects: you safeguard scope and planning, switch quickly between different lines and keep an overview.
• You have an affinity with product development and feel at home in a product-led environment: you understand how software is built, think along on functionality and bridge the gap between user practice and technical realisation.
• You have strong analytical skills to quickly grasp complex legal, financial and operational issues, and you are a solid sparring partner who knows how to connect and convince a wide range of stakeholders, from fund manager to engineer.
• You combine an entrepreneurial mindset with pragmatism and a results-oriented approach, and you speak fluent Dutch and English.
