Job summary

Canon Production Printing in Venlo is seeking an engineering intern to develop a UVgel model for future production lines. The role involves optimizing existing models, collaborating with engineering teams, and simulating changes for impact analysis.

Job description

Do you want to design models for future production lines? Are you ready to make a real impact on the next generation of Canon technology? We are looking for you!

Your assignment

You will develop an extended version of the existing UVgel model to support future adaptations in the ink plant. The existing model was created by a predecessor and is a proven functional model, providing a strong foundation for further growth in complexity.

Your activities include:

  • Refactoring and optimizing the current model for raw material diversity and scalability.
  • Collaborating with engineering teams to identify future requirements.
  • Simulating proposed changes and reporting on their impact.
  • Making a proposal for optimal pre-processing of a certain material mix.

You’ll be part of a multidisciplinary team, working on real-world challenges with direct application in future products.

Your profile
  • You are currently studying Engineering, Applied Physics, or Mechatronics at HBO/WO level.
  • You are creative, proactive, and eager to learn about modular system design.
  • Skills: Modeling, system thinking, communication, programming (OpenModelica/Python/Matlab_Simulink).
  • This is an internship assignment for 4–6 months, minimum 4 days per week, starting as soon as possible.
