Job summary

Acerta Pharma, part of AstraZeneca, is seeking a Scientist in Bioscience with experience in cell and molecular biology to support haematology-oncology drug discovery across Oss and the future Amsterdam site.

You will design and execute biochemical- and cell-based assays, lead mechanistic studies, and translate data into actionable insights for multidisciplinary projects. Strong lab skills and English communication are essential.

Qualifications

• Education: BSc or MSc in Molecular Biology, Cell Biology, Cancer Biology, Pharmacology or a related field
• Laboratory skills with cell culture and relevant molecular and cellular biology techniques (e.g., qPCR, Western blot)
• Cell-based assay experience with hands-on design, optimization and execution including proper controls
• Scientific approach with strong problem-solving and collaborative working style
• Fluent English and clear scientific communication of results
• Willing to work in Oss until early 2027 transition to Amsterdam

Responsibilities

• Assay development and screening for small-molecule drug discovery
• Investigate compound activity and pathway biology using molecular and cellular techniques including cloning, qPCR, Western blotting, immunoassays, flow cytometry and imaging
• Work with haematology-oncology models (AML, CLL, MM) and co-culture systems
• Analyze biological data and present evidence-based recommendations to multidisciplinary teams
• Maintain ELN records and share knowledge across the team
