Job summary

CFP Energy Group seeks an experienced Biomethane Originator to grow our biomethane business by sourcing and securing physical supply from producers, plants and project developers. You will develop relationships in biomethane and GoO markets and negotiate offtake agreements to create long-term value.

Based in Amsterdam, the role involves coordinating with trading, legal, sustainability and operations to structure supply that delivers reliable, compliant market access across Europe.

Qualifications

• Degree in Energy Economics, Engineering, Environmental Science, Finance or a related field.
• Ideally 5+ years' experience in energy trading, commodity origination or renewable energy markets.
• Ideally 2+ years' experience in biomethane trading and/or origination.
• Proven experience in deal origination, commercial negotiation and structuring supply or offtake agreements.
• Strong relationships within the biomethane, biogas or renewable energy sector, ideally with producers, plant owners or developers.
• Strong knowledge of biomethane markets, including production pathways, pricing, certification and regulatory drivers.
• Understanding of ISCC, REDcert, Guarantees of Origin (GoOs), RED II/III and relevant registry mechanisms.
• Understanding of grid injection, mass balance and book-and-claim systems.
• Strong commercial and analytical skills, with the ability to assess pricing, volumes and counterparty risk.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills, with the ability to work effectively across technical and commercial stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Source and secure physical biomethane supply from producers, plants and project developers.
• Develop and maintain relationships with biomethane producers and GoO stakeholders.
• Negotiate offtake agreements and structure supply or offtake contracts.
• Assess market opportunities, volumes, pricing, certification and regulatory considerations.
• Manage transaction lifecycle and coordinate with trading, legal, sustainability and operations teams.
