Job summary

SFI Green Markets is expanding its biofuels and biogas business across Europe. As Biogas Broker, you will build relationships with producers, utilities, traders, and industrial clients, while facilitating transactions across biofuels, biogas, and related environmental products.

This highly commercial role requires a proactive, client-facing approach, strong communication skills, and the ability to identify opportunities and negotiate deals in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.

Qualifications

• 1–3 years of experience in sales, brokerage, business development, commodity markets, energy markets, or a similar commercial role.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain relationships with biogas producers, biomethane suppliers, utilities, traders, and industrial clients.
• Execute commercial transactions across biogas, biomethane, biofuels, and renewable gas products.
• Identify and pursue new business opportunities within the renewable gas value chain.
• Monitor market developments, regulatory changes, pricing trends, and supply-demand dynamics in European markets.
• Support clients in understanding market opportunities and developing trading strategies.
• Assist in negotiating commercial agreements and facilitating transactions between buyers and sellers.
• Collaborate with internal teams to expand SFI's renewable gas offerings.
• Contribute to revenue targets while maintaining high client service standards.

At SFI Green Markets, we help drive the transition to a lower-carbon economy by connecting market participants across renewable energy and environmental commodity markets. With a growing presence in biofuels, biogas, biomethane, and renewable gas certificates, we support producers, suppliers, traders, and industrial clients in achieving their commercial and sustainability objectives.

As demand for renewable gas solutions continues to grow across Europe, we are expanding our team and are looking for a Biofuels & Biogas Broker to help grow our presence in these rapidly evolving markets.

Role Overview

As a Biogas Broker, you will play a key role in the development of SFI Green Markets' renewable fuels and renewable gas business. You will be responsible for building relationships with producers, utilities, traders, energy companies, and industrial counterparties, while facilitating transactions across biofuels, biogas, biomethane, and related environmental products.

This is a highly commercial and client-facing role, ideal for someone who enjoys developing relationships, identifying opportunities, negotiating transactions, and contributing to the growth of sustainable energy markets.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain relationships with biogas producers, biomethane suppliers, utilities, traders, and industrial clients.
• Execute commercial transactions across biogas, biomethane, biofuels, and renewable gas-related products.
• Identify and pursue new business opportunities within the renewable gas value chain.
• Monitor market developments, regulatory changes, pricing trends, and supply-demand dynamics within European renewable energy markets.
• Support clients in understanding market opportunities and developing effective trading and sourcing strategies.
• Assist in negotiating commercial agreements and facilitating transactions between buyers and sellers.
• Collaborate closely with internal teams to expand SFI's renewable gas and environmental commodities offering.
• Contribute to achieving individual and team revenue targets while maintaining a high standard of client service.

What You’ll Bring

• 1-3 years of experience in sales, brokerage, business development, commodity markets, energy markets, or a similar commercial role.
• Strong interest in renewable energy, sustainability, and energy transition markets.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
• Commercially driven, with a proactive approach to generating opportunities and closing deals.
• Ability to understand market fundamentals and translate them into commercial opportunities.
• Self-starter mentality with a strong sense of ownership and accountability.
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced and entrepreneurial environment.
• Fluent in English; additional European languages are considered a strong advantage.
